Hi,
Welcome to the Attorney and Lawyers Hangout
As a lawyer specialising in commercial contracts, I wanted to share some of my own experience and knowledge with fellow forum members: a basic understanding of contracts can go far and save yourself a lot of money down the track.
Feel free to add in your own experience or questions.

We already have at least one thread on general legal questions and answers. The thread I'm referring to was started by a guy called Lurker who had really good legal and surfing knowledge, but unfortunately was banned from here.

1. When hiring a lawyer to buy real estate in the US. Can the lawyer do everything and act as a proxy. By signing him a POA. Can he:
- Obtain the tax numbers and other documents required to buy a house;
- Open a bank account,
- Ask for a loan;
- Open a company if necessary;
- Pay the transaction taxes, notary, etc.
- Sign the deed on the principal behalf.
- Hire a rental management company.
- Hire an accountant and pay him.
And separately
- If the principal wants to apply for a investment visa. What would be the costs.
I know it´s a lot of risk giving all this powers to a lawyer. But still. And what are the standard legal fees for all this. Do you calculate as a percentage of the house.
2. Secondly about the cancellation of the Roosh meeting by the government. Does he have grounds to sue the government. And if so would a lawyer work based in quota litis.
Threads should definitely merge. If there´s a dupe there should be some kind of system which would make the post and new thread immediately merge into the previous thread. With a note saying something like (post merged).
