Your recommended podcasts/audiobooks on self-improvement?
10-17-2014, 05:03 PM
As a 22 yo. guy with established basics of self-improvement, I'm seeking podcasts/audiobooks that:
-are about becoming the best possible man you can be
-are about building self-discipline, becoming more focused, cutting out all the fluff and BS, implementing proper habits of a powerful man
-will get me fired up to do the above or take action in general
If the blog Bold And Determined had a podcast, I guess that would fit perfectly.
Over the last 2-3 years, I've already went through personal development classics: A. Robbins, B. Tracy, Steve Pavlina, Wayne Dyer, Jim Rohn. Lately I've been trying out Danger And Play podcasts and they're pretty good, but I'm seeking something better.
Any ideas?

Travelling for over 24h tomorrow. Can you recommend any Red Pill audiobook/podcast? About relationships? And/or about social dynamics?

I listen to Aaron Clarey, Stuff They Don't Want You to Know, Matt Forney, The Art of Manliness, Honey Badger Radio and a few others.
I've bought too many books from listening to The Art of Manliness, a lot of them are available on Audible.

I'd read Sun Tzu's The Art of War. It's considered a classic book on strategy, and the principles can be studied and applied to many aspects of life.
Beyond that I'd recommend reading Winston Churchill's audiobiography.
The book "Fear" by Thich Nhat Hanh is one of the best books on mindset and overcoming fear. Way of the SEAL and Unbreakable Mind by Mark Divine are also highly recommended. "Problem Solving 101" by Ken Watanbe is a good book on general goal setting and problem solving skills.
Lately I'm getting bored of the conventional 'self help' - The problem is that much of it is simplistic instructions which are too vague, generic, and just teach you "what to do" but don't teach you "how to think" (which Sun Tzu says is the most important part of any battle or problem one will encounter). Or rather than written by folks with verifiable credentials and experience (such as Churchill and Ben Franklin) they're written by shady internet marketers or "gurus" of questionable backgrounds.
