This new Economist cover is occult as fuck. Tarot cards
Either way look at the Wheel of Fortune election card. Why is Merkel getting hit by lightning on the way down and LePen has an upward trajectory towards the rising sun. Is that Wilders at the bottom? Look at the Tower one -- is that supposed to represent the fall of the West via some hybrid Catholic-Communist revolution? The door looks like Martin Luther's 95 theses (Protestantism)
Rothschild family just openly fucking with us!
Edit, not sure what thread this fits in. Basically each card could fit into one of the different threads in Politics! I'll leave it here since I find the 2017 European Election wheel of fortune card the most puzzling. What are they trying to say?
First I didn't think any of it, but looking closer at the Tower one gave me the hibbies. Lets talk about the cards.
There seem to be 2 different groups, communists and christians on the Tower one. Doesn't really make sense that much, but I dont think its the literal meaning. In my opinion the communists ones are the globalist and cultural marxists while the christians are the traditionalist conservatives.
But what does the Tower card mean in Tarot in general? It seems there are multiple explanations.
This is one I found (

Tower Tarot Card Meanings and Description
The Tower shows a tall tower pitched atop a craggy mountain. Lightning strikes and flames burst from the building’s windows. People are seen to be leaping from the tower in desperation, wanting to flee such destruction and turmoil. The Tower signifies darkness and destruction on a physical scale, as opposed to a spiritual scale. The Tower itself represents ambitions built on false premises. The lightning bolt breaks down existing forms in order to make room for new ones. It represents a sudden, momentary glimpse of truth, a flash of inspiration that breaks down structures of ignorance and false reasoning. Notice the lightning bolt is oriented left to right (from the perspective of the card), from heaven to earth, and from Spirit to material. The falling figures correspond to the chained prisoners in the Devil card. They fall headfirst, because the sudden influx of spiritual consciousness represented by the lightning flash completely upsets all our old notions about the relations between subconsciousness and self-consciousness. The flames are actually the Hebrew yods. There are 22 flames, representing the 22 Major Arcana. The gray clouds are the clouds of misfortune that rain on everyone indiscriminately. The ruling planet of this card is Mars.
So lets recap:
- There isn't an orientation of the lighting, so it seems there is no intended meaning
- There are 10 flames, not 22. No idea what it means or if it even has an intended meaning.
- Gray clouds above everyone. This means both groups are being played in a hegelian dialectic way against each other. Soros modus operandi, anyone? Of course this is highly speculative.
- The tower itself. Yeah, Trump Tower is eerily fitting the theme.
The Wheel of Fortune card seems to be literal.

The death one doesn't seem to be literal, but interesting nonetheless:
Quote:Quote:
ending
closing one door to open another
bringing something to a close
completing a chapter
concluding unfinished business
putting the past behind you
having a parting of the ways
going through transition
changing status
moving from the known to the unknown
being cast adrift
waiting in an in-between state
being in the middle
eliminating excess
cutting out what isn't necessary
shedding old attitudes
getting down to bare bones
concentrating on essentials
getting back to basics
experiencing inexorable forces
being in the path of sweeping change
being caught in the inescapable
going through what cannot be avoided
being part of a powerful movement
riding your fate
accepting the inevitable
Putting the past behind you = reconciliation with Russia?
The Hermit one is interesting as well:
Quote:Quote:
being introspective
thinking things over
focusing inward
concentrating less on the senses
quieting yourself
looking for answers within
needing to understand
searching
seeking greater understanding
looking for something
wanting the truth at all costs
going on a personal quest
needing more
desiring a new direction
receiving/giving guidance
going to/being a mentor
accepting/offering wise counsel
learning from/being a guru
turning to/being a trusted teacher
being helped/helping
seeking solitude
needing to be alone
desiring stillness
withdrawing from the world
experiencing seclusion
giving up distractions
retreating into a private world
Together with the globe and TTIP the Hermit seems to portray a rise of Independence, Isoliationism and Nationalism.
So thats basically it. Its not like I have a really idea about Tarot except a quick Google Search. Hope I didnt break the two-fifty rule by doing that.
For all we know it could be only a cool Cover Design idea, which it frankly is. But the Tower one really weirds me out, regardless and I trust my gut feeling.
