Cold approaching and street game

I apologise if this has been done to death but I need some solid openers or techniques for street game.
I have only ever done 2 street approaches in my life. Both were ill prepared and put a nasty dent in an otherwise fruitful gaming confidence. Ever since then the thought of stopping someone in the street for no good reason was both moronic and desperate. Everything I am not.
I only ever see hot girls out and about these days... more than anywhere else. So Im going to try once again and see if I can improve this area of my game.
I usually find myself following the girl I want to approach and thinking what the hell am I going to say, then bail out into a shop. First mistake right there... I know.
I just need some openers that give me a good reason for the approach in the first place, so she doesnt think Im a complete nut case. Bearing in mind this would be a completely out of the blue cold approach in the street, so there is nothing really to go on. And I refuse to use the old "I saw you and just felt compelled to say hello" bullcrap. Blurgh.

Some interesting thoughts:

Search the forum, there is tons of this stuff already posted.

My favorite day time, street pick up line is............" hi how are you?" or " hey whats up" or "nice scarf/earrings"

or just ask for directions or something.

body language and positioning is very important.

im going out today to experiment with the famous "Daytime Apacolypse Opener", this will be interesting!

I use situational openers. Wherever we are at I use something that I know is common to both of us and as I talk I slowly move the conversation to her.

I usually go direct on the street, but indirect in bookstores/grocery stores/etc. I have only been doing street game since June but each month I have gotten way better and my flake rate is decreasing. Just a few days ago I insta-dated a Blonde 9. I couldn't believe this was happening to me (and got a solid # too).

I got a lot of great information from daygame.com

Dude Krauser has some great day game videos.

Pretty much the dude always starts with a compliment mixed with a neg or something sexual. That her style is really cool, but X seems weird, or that she walks really sexy or something.

I was going to post that he initially touched her elbow to get her attention but I looked closer on the video (1st link), he lightly touched her on the arm. Whenever you touch somebody on the elbow lightly they are more receptive of you. The book is called the "definitive book of body language". I think it would be a plus in any day game.

A really pretty, tall Russian or German-type woman walking towards me on the street, she smiled and looked me in the eye. Then I asked if she know where a good pizza place was...
