Hey everyone! I did a quick search on this and didn't find anything. The iphone doesn't have any features allowing you to send pre-scheduled texts. Also trying to mass text on the native iphone interface is a giant pain in the ass. It doesn't show a list of your contacts and check boxes to add people. Instead you have to go back and forth between your message and your address book, or start typing and use it's search function in the send field which isn't reliable.

Any advice for an app to use for mass texting and pre-scheduled texts on the iphone?

For the pre scheduled sms I found something on google, for the mass texting just check the casual sms app not the native ones (maybe you can just create group to text to...).

Someone here should write an app that automates prepared Tinder and Whatsapp conversations. Something that could assimilate a usual conversation structure, with perhaps 2 or 3 possible responses to preassumed answers to questions.

This would GREATLY reduce the time we spend trying to get girls out on dates. You do nothing, and just have them shipped to your apartment automatically, with the program doing all the filtering. You would just check the girls who agreed to dates, filter out the fatties etc.

Anyone with game could write a decent conversation structure that could work virtually in all situations. You would just need an app that automates it, picks up possible responses using certain cues, and texts back (with adequate timing) a preprogrammed reply. I would write it myself if I had the programming knowledge, or would even perhaps pay money to get it written by someone with the knowledge. I somehow get the feeling that this WILL be the future of game.

Ios and Android are not that hard to learn.
And wire framing a product like that and bidding it out to coders on odesk is just matter of doing it.

Biggest problem is that all the messenger app companies are very averse to this exact thing, and either won't expose an API that would permit it, or make it very restrictive and hard to get access to.

The reason you don't see any iOS apps with this feature is primarily that an app like this wouldn't get approved by Apple and developers do not have access to API that would allow you to send a text. In theory it's possible with a jail broken phone where you can call API's that are "hidden" from the general development community.

In Android(not sure about iOS) you can create a group and send text messages to a group of people.

It is possible to send timed messages but this involves taking advantage of each carriers SMS Gateway.

There's a company called Twilio that makes a Python API for sending mass SMS messages:

The API looks straightforward enough. I know the language and I could probably bang out a little command line executable that would take a text file with #'s, timestamps, and messages and move them out. You'd probably need to sign up and supply your own developer key, however.

As for the "apps" I don't know anything about their interfaces, as Phoenix says they likely have their shit locked down pretty well so it would be difficult.

You're basically talking about writing an ELIZA chatbot with game, haha.

Natural language conversation is a pretty non-trivial problem. Anyone with a brain will pick up real quickly that they're talking with a bot. I think some Nigerian scammers already use stuff like this...it's not hard to detect.

I did actually pull one girl from online by pretending I was a bot, however. My opener was like "HELLO USER. ALGORITHM DETECTS YOU ARE SUITABLE MATCH - HIGH PRIORITY SUBROUTINE INITIATED."

That opener got a lot of responses for a while. I thought it was kind of clever.
