It seems a few Canadians think Canada should stay in the EU...

As the reporter said, people have lots of opinions but very little knowledge, it's amazing how most of them didn't even blink when they said yes/no in this absolutely OBVIOUS sort of question.

"Christian love bears evil, but it does not tolerate it. It does penance for the sins of others, but it is not broadminded about sin. Real love involves real hatred: whoever has lost the power of moral indignation and the urge to drive the sellers from temples has also lost a living, fervent love of Truth."

Wow it took a poly student to know Canada's not in the EU. Funny enough, Canadian media LOVEs doing these types of things in the states. I remember one was like: "we built our first non-igloo house in Canada yesterday, what do you think of that?" and getting all sorts of stupid questions.

Well, Quebecois have the whole French inferiority complex thing going, so I'm not really surprised.

Funny you should say that given that French people from France are coming here en masse and not the other way around.

Actually, the province of Quebec has special agreements with France, which make it easy for young Quebecers to work in France. Also, students from France used to pay less for tuition at Quebec unis than students from Ontario (this was only recently reversed, they now pay Canadian rates as opposed to Quebec rates). So technically speaking, Quebec is closer to the EU.

I don't really trust these kinds of TV reports, they are usually edited to make a point, showing the dumbest side of the public.

Total would bang for sure. I actually have studied at the University she has been at, though she's years ahead in her studies.

You have to be a total idiot not to know that the EU does not include Canada. Wow.

Ever seen rick mercer ?

He did a similar thing where he went to the states and questioned them about their own country and Canada. The answers were hilarious. If I wasn't on my phone I'd post the link.

Point being - every country has idiots.

Yeah. On the CBC when I was a kid Rick would go to the states and have a little segment called: Talking to Americans. It was quite funny to me back then.

And agreed. Every country does have idiots and unfortunately they can make things worse for everyone else.

Those shows are also edited to weed out reasonable responses and show the dumber side of the public. People like to see dumb people on TV, it makes them feel smarter.

As well, there is a built-in bias of deference to authority at play, in that some passer by who is accosted by a journalist with a professional camera crew posing him a question will have a tendency to take the question at face value and not question its validity. If some guy sitting next you on a park bench asked the same question, it wouldn't carry the same level of authority.

I remember watching those on CBC as a kid, they're actually pretty hilarious.

That's Lauren Southern from Rebel Media with Gavin McInness, Ezra Levant. The same company that interviewed Roosh during the Canada adventure.

So while, those are some good points that things like this are edited for TV and entertainment purposes. This is a political youtube channel so it's unlikely it would have been edited to be funnier, but maybe it was edited to further their bias/political views, although I don't think that's really necessary.
