I dont know about DC, but Im finding in Maryland the weekend scene is going down hill fast, but the weekday nights, when a lot of bars/lounges do drink specials with live entertainment the places are absolutely packed

I hear Spider Kelly's in Clarendon area of Arlington is now the most happening place however I myself am looking forward to the weather warming up and hitting Georgetown Waterfront, specifically Sequoia.

Oh and for the record my weekend in Baltimore proved that its unchanged since last year. Full of ugly yuppies and old people. I'm curious if Hopkins just doesn't produce attractive college females or if they're all going somewhere else on the weekends.

I think it depends on what you're looking for in a bar.

Personally I have a few places where I am a regular that I regard as my drinking/hangout bars. They have good beer, wine, and booze (depending on the specific place) and most importantly they have relaxed atmospheres. They're scattered around town, low-key, and generally hipster/dive oriented. If you live in the DMV you can probably figure out a couple based on that description so I am not going to list any.

I don't like to shit where I eat, drink, or workout, so I keep it casual in these places because a good bar is far more important to me than a random lay. I'm getting older and I don't want drama or hassles at places where I go to socialize and relax with friends. Occasionally I'll bring a chick to one or meet up with one at my usuals but it's pretty rare. In these places if an opportunity presents itself I'll take it, but I don't do active bar/club game because it doesn't fit my style and I find the club thing too much of a hassle to deal with when there are women everywhere.

But for what it's worth regarding Spider Kelly's I used to go there when it first opened for the occasional beer and hamburger, but it's really blown up in the last year or two in ways I don't like. When I walk by there on Thursday-Saturday nights there's always a line full of "bras" waiting to get in so it's not my type of place.

As a former bouncer it's the kind of place I'd bet is most likely to have trouble erupt around that stretch due to the crowd, but that totally depends on the quality of the staff so I'm talking out of my ass. Regardless, some bartender friends in the area have also told me stories about the staff that make me want to avoid the place regardless of the clientèle. If I were younger I'd be into it though; it's definitely hopping.

Oh yeah, H street has some decent bars. I've only been to a few but the only ones I absolutely hate are that one with the astroturf roof because it attracts a loud younger assholeish clientèle (which you might actually like - I dunno - but I regard those kind of people as amateur drinkers) and the "German" place with overpriced liters, terrible service and shitty selection. Again, I'm old so YMMV but if you want to relax at some cool little places check out H street. Maybe you'll find a gem you can report.

Georgetown, Arlington and bethesda is basically all white. There is no shortage of white women in the DMV. There is a shortage of attractive white women in the DMV.

Bingo! Quit yer crying guys and cross the river or northern border; white women in droves out in these parts...and barely a Julio or Tyrone to speak of.

I've had good luck at Russia House and Veritas in Dupont, and at Marvin on U St.

From reading many of the spots above it sounds like the bulk of the posters live in surrounding suburb areas of Virginia and only come into DC on the weekends and hit the spots that are blatantly obvious. Roosh posted ages ago that his goto datespot was Bar Rouge or Topaz. Raise your hand kids if you've been to either of those. They are in fact in Dupont Circle but if you never leave the Public Bar --- Lucky Bar banana pancake trail it's not likely that you would ever have seen these places.

Roosh's post about being a big fish in a small pond is applicable here. The Big Pond for post college white people is "Bro life" and most of the bars listed sofar are basically bro bars.

Bro bar n. - dark, overly loud Top 40 playing, Frat/House party basement replicating, miller-lite double fisting, ass to crotch grinding college reenactment bar.

If bro life is your thing thats great. I rolled in that scene for most my life. The guys who kill (top 20%) in that pond really kill. But my best guess is that if you are reading a forum post on a site dedicated to learning how to pickup women Bro Life really wasn't or isn't that rad for you.

Another thing is why come into DC for Bro Life? The Bro Life mecca is definitely Clarendon VA. If you went to mug night at Whitlows on Thursday the scene isn't magically going to change with at $20 cab ride into DC to drink at Midtown loft. In fact, I'd bet you'd probably even see some of the same girls. The things that are challenging about the Arlington bro life scene don't suddenly go away once you cross the river. You don't go to Bollywood to see movie stars so why would you goto DC for bro life?

I'm not suggesting that anytime you venture into DC you need to spend all your time sipping PBR's and listening to Issac Hayes's Black Moses at the Raven, but instead just be aware that DC has multiple night life scenes and each one of these scenes is a potential tool that can help you get laid depending on your personality or the girls.

So basically:

1. Figure out what you like or require in a bar / night life spot. (type of music, noise level, kind of dancing, alcohol selection, overall vibe, max % of dudes)
2. Get a yelp.com account and start searching for things that match #1

Yelp completely eliminates the need for this thread as long as you ignore every single girl reviewer, and take each male review with a grain of salt based on their picture. For example, Bro-Life guy gives 1 star review of artsy hipster dive bar or Hipster give Bro-life bar 1 star review.

Good points.

I unfortunately have to roll to DC sometimes.

Where would you suggest for the hottest girls, price no object?

What about the Eye bar on I St? That used to have great parties on weekends, and some college nights on Wednesdays, I think... it's close to GWU.

Eyebar closed. It's now Eden... heard it was alright if you like the K street crowd.

Anyone have any thoughts on Ozio in Dupont? I thought it was similar to Lima, with a bit more pretentiousness in the crowd. Cover was brutal though.
