And how many women did she inspire to do the same thing? How many marriages were ruined and children's lives were blown up because some middle-aged 5 thought she could bail her boring marriage and stick the landing too?

That woman ruined thousands of marriages with her pathological selfishness. The publisher is also equally culpable.

I detest those people.

I hope she has to pay alimony. That would be poetic justice.

There is also a lot of the spiritual crap of finding yourself in some ashram with a bunch of other lost caucasians in togas and saris. The title of the novel sums it up.

“Nothing is more useful than to look upon the world as it really is.”

Alimony and monthly spousal support.

She is probably richer than the husband, so she should pay

Felipe probabaly used his fame to upgrade to a younger, sexier, saner chick that can offer him ten more years in the West. Rinse and repeat. He is like a dollar-store, off-brand Donnie J.

^This was a concept kicked off by the more psychotic progressives several years ago if memory serves. I wasn't here back then so I don't know if you guys caught wind if it.

The principle being "it takes a village to raise a child" the uber-collectivist facets of the MSM started talking about how "there's really no such thing as "my kids". All kids are "our kids". Serious year zero psychopathy, and it copped a lot of pushback.

This is clearly the brushed up approach that puts the focus on "other people's kids" rather than triggering the protective instinct of having someone's own kids claimed by a faceless (and presumably hostile) collective authority.

Where it reads "no such thing as other people's children" it should actually say "no such thing as YOUR children".

I won't quote blocks of text because I don't want to derail the thread.

Eat, Pray, Love author Elizabeth Gilbert announces she is in love with a woman

Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the bestselling memoir Eat, Pray, Love, has revealed that she is in a relationship with a woman. Ms Gilbert, who announced her separation from her husband this summer, said in a Facebook post on Wednesday that her long-time best friend, Syrian-American writer Rayya Elias, had recently been diagnosed with incurable pancreatic and liver cancer.

“Something happened to my heart and mind in the days and weeks following Rayya's diagnosis,” wrote Ms Gilbert, who is 47. “Death — or the prospect of death — has a way of clearing away everything that is not real, and in that space of stark and utter realness, I was faced with this truth: I do not merely love Rayya; I am in love with Rayya.”

In July, the author announced her split from her second husband, businessman José Nunes, familiar to readers of her memoir as “Felipe”, the subject of the book’s final section, “Love”. In her post, she acknowledged that the marriage had come to an end as a result of her feelings for Ms Elias, 56. “For those of you who are doing the math here, and who are wondering if this situation is why my marriage came to an end this spring, the simple answer is yes,” she wrote.

The two writers have been friends for more than 15 years, and often inseparable during that time. Now, Ms Gilbert said, “I’m walking through this cancer journey with her, not only as her friend, but as her partner.”

The post received an overwhelmingly positive response, following which Ms Gilbert returned to social media to thank well-wishers, tweeting: “Thank you for the love, everyone. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.”

Published in 2006, Eat, Pray, Love recounted a year-long trip of self-discovery that Ms Gilbert had taken to Italy, India and Indonesia after divorcing her first husband. The author was played by Julia Roberts in a 2010 film adaptation, which also starred Javier Bardem as Felipe.

Ms Elias is also a memoirist and author of the 2013 book Harley Loco: A Memoir of Hard Living, Hair, and Post-Punk From the Middle East to the Lower East Side. Ms Gilbert said in her post that she would soon return to the public eye, adding: “Whenever Rayya is healthy enough to be by my side, she will be by my side."

Third time's the charm!

Carpet-munching a chemo patient - that's some seriously impressive, next-level attention whoring.

I can't have sex with your personality, and I can't put my penis in your college degree, and I can't shove my fist in your childhood dreams, so why are you sharing all this information with me?

Brings new meaning to the words "terminal attention seeker".

You'd think in the last stages of her life she might tune down the rabid ME show and start looking within. Unless of course this is all some shitty hoax and she beats the cancer before releasing a much-hyped book about the curative powers of pussy juice.

She wouldn't be the first cancer patient to spin an easily operable melanoma into a stage 57 "I am more cancer now than man" ailment.

The lesbian love of her life just so happens to be Syrian American, making the author doubly relevant 10 years after anyone gave a shit about reading her latest book? A fortunate turn of luck for her.

+1 for great use of gymnastics metaphor as well as insight.

I respect anyone talented enough to write a best seller at least in the sense they were organized and finished something. But her description of her parasitic promiscuity sounds very anti-social.

I don't know if I (or anyone) mentioned it but, her reaction to her first divorce was to go on a self-indulgent trip around the world. Her ex husband (the first one, an attorney) volunteered his time for children displaced by war...and he's portrayed as an insufferable bore.

I read her book which I bought at goodwill as to not add any payment to the publisher or writer.

She is a whiny overeducated cunt who thinks telling the story of being whiny and petulant, and having enough money to go to retreats in India where they tell her how special she is, is book worthy. I guess a lot of people agree based on the sales figures...

Bro, just a despicable level of attention-whoring; I'm no saint myself, but I make sure I have justified reasons to get people's attentions.
