In case you forgot I will reiterate.
1) There is a correlation between Punishment & Crime
2) The more sever the punishment the fewer number of offenses are being committed.
3) The more lax the punishment the higher number of offenses are being committed.

5) Therefore using logic one can deduce that having more extreme severe punishments will lower crime rates.
