I do believe G has some kind of money, and I do believe he grew up in California to an Italian family. That seemed realistic enough given his posts here over the years. As for how much he's really swooped or traveled, remains a mystery... I will say much of his advice is gold, he was preaching the suit long before it got cool again.
G is all about style over substance. That's what you gotta remember with him. However, style is far more important than substance when it comes to getting laid, so his attitude and demeanor are ultimately good things for men.
G also always styled himself as a super cool masculine liberal guy, and I remember pressuring him quite often about how he could be left-wing when they were the ones clamping down on nightlife, smoking, and so many other freedoms important to men. He couldn't give a good answer.
Then, when Trump rolled around, G was a major Trump hater. His posts during the election were incoherent, a mixture of anger, confusion, and disbelief. But it seems now that the election is over, he has come to terms with Trump and has either understood the follies of his previous politics or simply buried his cognitive dissonance under 12 drinks a night.
His political struggles also mirror what I've always believed to be true of him, as an Italian Californian from a family of at least modest wealth. Italians were always Dem, same with California being the hip cool edgy leftist place. But ultimately, the cool edgy leftists were from a different era of 60 years ago, and has nothing to do with today. Today's leftists are the Soy he mocks relentlessly, and the Right edge is way sharper than the Left edge.
A lot of the G Manifesto character is nothing more than a Godfather character turned into a posting account, but the actual real man of the G is himself from a family at least loosely associated with Italian mafia. That is how he can relate and create his persona, drawing from pop culture references of Italians meshed with his real world knowledge of places, custom suits, surfing, and boxing.
