Stuck in life. Need advice

What's up players, I discovered the forum recently while watching Roosh vids on YouTube. I like the commeraderie and thought I'd give it a shot posting here.

I'm 24 yrs. old, financially unstable, no college education, and am living paycheck to paycheck. None of my family members can help out, because I come from a low socioeconomic background. Everyone is busy taking care of their kids, paying rent, and working 9-5 jobs. I don't blame them since they are all immigrants and didn't have a plan when they moved here, but now I'm stuck without a plan. Most Americans are given a college fund, trust fund, or are supported by their parents while they go to school and get an education. I'm still living with my mom and feel bad for her since she's about to turn 60 and does physical labor to pay the bills. Her stress and worry for her future highly affects me, so I try to keep busy with gym and work. Lucky for me, I have an opportunity to make a difference in my future. I'm all about self improvement and understand that things manifest only with hard work and not wishful thinking. I don't want to be another slave in the rat race saving for retirement. I want to travel, have girls come over to bang, go to school, crack the code to wealth so I can introduce my people, and do the shit on my bucket list. My options are hindered due to money and no guidance. I don't have friends to go out and game women with (I stopped talking to all of my old friends since they're either fuckups or have gone to universities). I know I want to study computer science and would rather work hard now while I'm young, save for the future, and travel later. I also want to save to move out, so I can bang girls in private and get away from the off vibes while still helping my mom out with some stuff. School wouldn't even be full time though. I could do that or just slave away in the system, save for retirement, and live life frugally until I have enough money to go to school full time. Any advice or suggestions on my living situation, hobbies to make friends, money making ideas, career strategy?

Where are you currently working (not specific, but is it retail, manual labour, etc)? It is clear that you need to be proactive instead of just waiting for something to happen. Are you buying your food in bulk from Costco to save that bit of extra money? Are you driving places using petrol when you could walk? The first thing to do is to start to save money. As many people say, it's not how much you earn but how much you save.

Why not look in to the skilled labourer route? Trade school is cheaper and quicker than a proper college, and you are getting in to well-paid job that you can easily quit or take up again if you need to.

I work in the hospitality industry. I have a Costco membership and am frugal as hell. Only buying stuff I need, not want. And thanks, I'll look into trade schools.

I would recommend getting a pad of paper and a pen and write in it daily. Set goals in pen and paper.

Get a library card. Get all the books and audio CD's you can. Self educate yourself for free.

You said: "Most Americans are given a college fund, trust fund, or are supported by their parents while they go to school and get an education. I'm still living with my mom"

No not everybody in USA is given all that stuff not by a long shot, but some do. Have you visited a college financial aid office to see what you qualify for?

I personally come from a seriously wild upbringing with hippie parents. We lived in a hippie commune where heroin use was the norm. No alcohol or nicotene was allowed but we ate very healthy, and there was lots of nudity and sex. Almost everyone was too stoned, brainwashed, and high on acid (and shooting opiates) to do the right things for my development.

Anyways, about living with your parents and struggling. Isnt that the new norm for lots of people in their 20's and 30's. Don't beat yourself up over not being on your own because the numbers and dollars are out of many peoples favor today.

Have you established a budget plan?

Sorry to hear about your upbringing I do keep tabs on short term and long term goals. I make sure I'm doing daily tasks to check off short term goals that are part of long term goals. I'm actually going to talk to a counselor tomorrow to see what they say. I watch tutorials on code all the time and am getting a laptop soon to do some workshops. And yes I have a budget plan. I keep tabs on my expenses and make sure I'm hitting my savings mark at the same time.

How did you navigate all that if you're on your feet now?

Pell Grant pays 5500 for college, and depending on your state, college is free.

I didn't pay tuition til my 5th year

EDIT: Assuming you're really poor

And that's all you need to focus on making happening. Unless you're already a mechanically inclined guy, the trades might not work out for you. Find a way to make your passion work. I was in you position 3 years ago, and tried to force myself in a career path that I had never done, and was not inclined for it... and paid the price dearly for it since I flopped Big Time!

You have to do something, but don't force it to happen. Put in the work necessary, and you'll know it's the right field for you if it doesn't feel like a burden learning that stuff. Stay with your mom until you have it figured it out. I know you want to do something now to feel better about yourself... but just stand still. Trust me on this one!

That is right he would probably qualify for free tuition and books. Also possibly more money compared to native born people because of his status of immigrating from another country.

In my school, I noticed during mid-semester when remaining balances from grants and scholarships become available to cash out, there are kids from other countries wearing fresh clothes, gold jewelry, they get their hair and nails done, they are rocking out new designer boots, new iPhones, and electric bikes. I would like to know more about them but they keep to themselves. A lot of people that come from other countries do not want to mix with the natives.

College is a weird place now a days.

You want a computer ask a librarian how to rent one. Or post an ad on Craiglist asking for a free computer, who knows you might get one that way.

Why not learn carpentry? If you know how to fix up houses and have connections that you get from going to trade school to help you with stuff you dont know like plumbing and electrics you can make big bucks in real estate. Have a daytime job and on the side buy worn-down houses, fix them up and sell them for a profit or rent them out. Within a few years you can be very well off financially and live off the rental income and/or the sales proceeds. Or you can start your own company after a few years when you have experience having employees and just being the boss. I might have done this had I figure it out at an earlier age.

O.P., you said you are living paycheck to paycheck. Why is that? What are your expenses? Also, do you have any debt? Credit cards? Car loan?

Dude right there is from Indonesia and taught himself english and his rap style from watching youtube videos. FUCKING YOUTUBE VIDEOS MAN.
Point being that you can damn near be whatever you want today...litterally lol.

Map out what you want to be--if its computer science write that shit down as the "end goal" then start googling and filling in what you have to do to get from where you are today to that end goal. Take baby steps.
After you figure that out look for ways to pay it. Someone mentioned before but theres the pell grant, online scholarship applications, Uber, Lyft, amazon flex, a job, federal student loans, etc.
Ya know, work it out into baby steps and map it out with check points and everything.
Decide and attack.

I want to get back into shape to train for the olympics but its frustrating everyday when they stuff I used to do as warm-ups in college is damn near an intense work out for me now.
FUCK
It would be easy to quit but you have got to remember that this is a process and you're not going to wake up tomorrow and be where you want to be. Stay level headed and know that there will be set backs along the way.

If I were you my first google search would be "How do I become a computer Science major." Or look up the type of jobs that a computer Science major gets and search how to do that. Also its important to know that you don't have to go to "college" to do this. There are workshops and whatever else. Just gotta get out there and turn those rocks over. I just thought about this but pull one of these and try to get an internship/shadowing at a computer science job.

Always remember man where there is a will theres a way even when it seems impossible. I know that might be some disney shit but its never failed me.

You can do this man. Hope that helps.

edit: I wouldn't waste time on girls just yet maybe you start The Roosh Program just to get your foot into the door. But taking care of yourself is #1a. These hoes is option #1b.

Why don't you go into programming? Plenty of programming languages, opportunities and the pay is excellent.

Just read the other thread on how to get a Python programmer job. There are many programming languages: Java, C#, C++, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL etc.

Pick two languages (main, best ones are: Java, C#, Python), develop 5/6 solid projects (apps, web apps, websites, video games). Learn JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL, NoSQL, object orientated programming, test driven development, git version control and then start applying for junior jobs.

If you devote many hours a day, in 6 months you could be in a well paid junior job. Also check this website out: https://www.freecodecamp.com/

Treehouse is also an excellent website to learn programming as well as have projects under your belt.

Good luck man

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm still waiting on the laptop to starts workshops on treehouse.com and other sites. I'm making time to see a counselor tomorrow since I didn't have time last week. My expenses are car loan, car insurance, gas, rent, phone bill, and groceries. Don't really have a reason why I'm living paycheck to paycheck. I'm trying to work more to save more and have cut my spendings big time. Guess I'll start driving for lyft since my car is good enough and I don't have much work experience to get a higher paying job.

first off don't put all your hours into working just to make a little extra at your already low paying job. You need to allot free time in your life to formulate and take actions.

Also self taught things like programming are good but programming is still competitive and its definitely a high level skill that takes time. Maybe try getting into something more simpler like IT work with some basic certifications and you can probably keep learning about tech and programming while on the job.

Try getting networking into some communities. A non-denominational mega-church is a great place to start. These churches attract thousands of working class professionals, and they don't necessarily push the hardcore "fire and brimstone" style of preaching.

Thanks for the input, but I don't think I'd wanna attend one of theses churches. I do plot a lot and only work to reap money. Being a server averages out to $25 an hour. Getting into soft. dev. is definitely on my long term list. I have a couple of friends that tell me how much they make and so many people are needed in their workplace. I'll look into the IT work too.

Blessings Brother! Welcome to the community. First and foremost, remember the solid cold stone fact that one day you will be dead. What point I am getting at ? That you shouldnt be taking anything way too seriously, if you do you're just going to burn out. No desire or passion will last forever. If now and into the immediate future your basic needs are covered, I.e. food, water, then stop stressing over other mundane things, we humans overcomplicate life way too much than what is necessary. If basic needs are not covered, then just get out there and do some hustling to put food on the table, once the basic needs are covered, back to relaxation. Now does this mean to just do nothing and have no goals? No absolutely not, when you have your survival needs covered as mentioned, dedicate some of the free time to learning a skill, now days you can learn anything on YouTube, carpentry, plumbing, mechanics, whatever it is all there. Now my original point is still what is important, that you have to balance between workings towards a goal and living happily with what you have in this moment. Hope I have helped.let us know how you get on

Not everyone gets a paid education and a silver spoon to kick life off with.

I would argue that you are better off without those, since you have the gift of hunger, appreciation of rewards that are earned and a hunger to better yourself.

There are many ways to be a self made man, you can and will find your way. If you want to , and if you are not afraid of hard work.

I know, because I did it. Good luck mate.

I agree with you 100% bushcraft. I focus on all of my basic needs like food, clothing, rent, and notch counts, but chicken heads are secondary. I make sure I don't waste time in any day to move closer to my goals no matter how shitty I feel. I know it's all about the action. I just applied to my local college to get crafty with CS and meet more people. Waiting to hear back from them. I'm just trying to get my 2015 tax return transcripts to show my counselor and studying on my own.

And thanks ratinthewoods. The rewards ARE DEFINITELY appreciated by those who reap what they sow themselves. One of my close ones told me that I have a powerful story and they can feel my hunger. I'm in the back seat with a girl one night and she says "You're intimidating" I ask why. She says "Cause I feel like you could accomplish whatever you want" I laugh and ask why that's so intimidating. She just says "I've just never haven't met anyone like you" and she doesn't even know me or know what I do. I've had two different people at different jobs, on the same day just randomly tell me I'm going to be successful one day. I don't know what vibe they're getting, but that's good to hear. I'm definitely disciplined in not settling for less. The day I'm incapable of getting the things I want, which is nothing, is the day I'll go out. I'll update on my process.

"Dude, you need to drop a datasheet about your hippie commune experiences. You'll get a +1 from me."

Not to jack this guys topic but sure I can share some background info.

I was born in another country and then my parents moved me with them to Oregon. We lived on a farm and grew all of our own food really well. I was always fed very well.

The family was about 50 people sometimes more sometimes less. It was mostly females. It was a total hippie commune. Wives and husbands were often shared for sex. There was tons of drama. Nudity was common. There was a lot of sex going on. Probably too much.

My dad was a ring leader and he probably screwed the most of the women. He was always on drugs. Heavy ones like LSD and cactus.

Just about everyone used LSD but we were not tied to LSD distribution rings. We did not listen to Grateful Dead or any music from that era. I think they tried to keep deadheads out for some reason. Nevertheless one year I remember vividly one guy in the family acquired a humungous batch of LSD and wanted to resale it for profit for the family. There was a family meeting when he showed the packets of blotter to the family saying he would sell it for money. Its resale was practically nothing in Oregon so he traveled all over the country selling all of it and came back home broke as a joke and brainfried.

The first time I was high on LSD was probably 5 years old. It was not administered to me but it is such a messy and strong substance that even if you accidentally touched a small remnant you can be high all day long. This was a common occurrence when fresh LSD was around. I was too young to understand why I was high. I thought some days were just brighter and more energy filled then others.

I had sexual relationships with many girls starting around 5 years old. There was no shortage of horny girls and they mostly led the way to fooling around. They definitely had more experience and know how.

Heroin became a big part of family life. This was ultra dysfunctional. My dad probably introduced it to the family. He was a leader in all the sex drugs and dysfunction.

One day there was some family trauma of some kind with people crying, and I was told it was "the end of the road" which is hippie talk for, some bad stuff was going down and the family was spliting. That term is used by hippies for when something super nuts (like Charles Manson killings) or something really bad along those lines. Not sure what exactly happened.

That day I was immediately driven to Canada to live there.

Hippie communes can naturally become dysfunctional out of the blue.

Overall I have this hippie thing as my tribe because I understand them best. But I do not support the drug scene much at all. Quite the opposite. I have seen drugs damage peoples lives so much. I have this kind of hippie-traitor thing going on. Like, why are you taking all these drugs? Don't you know its stupid? Im always recommending people be healthy instead and find other things to do other then frying on drugs.

Occasionally i will use something because LSD is like a chosen sacrament or something of that nature. To be perfectly honest Im tired of frying and I do not think the 60's hippie culture is cool anymore. I see hippies as the first people I can connect with, but many of them can also be dysfunctional people who use drugs for useless reasons.

I feel like I would rather have grown up in a normal family.

Then you are already doing all what you can. Keep living with your mother so to save on rent , and keep saving clinging to every penny. Then try to invest your savings in something giving some passive income.
