Yeah way more. In LA I'd get some small 1 bedroom apartment for 500-600k in Hollywood. A bigger apartment in Miami South Beach (beach view), an apartment at Trump International Hotel or an apartment close to MGM with a fantastic view.

The most expensive apartment for sale at the Signature at the MGM Grand is around $650,000. Two bedrooms, decent view, but doesn't look at all impressive to me.

I just thought LA had more beautiful white girls. The quality you get for your money is rather low though. The apartments in Vegas and Miami look like they were twice as valuable as the ones in LA. Even though they're cheaper.

Check out Long Beach before you write off Los Angeles. Prices are better there than in a lot of other parts of Southern California. Also, have you even been to Los Angeles, Miami, or Las Vegas? If not, go visit all three. You can only learn so much by reading what is written on the forum.

Only been to Vegas. I should probably visit Miami and LA to figure out which girls/city I prefer.
I looked into Long Beach. There are some nice apartments but isn't it quite far from all the clubs in Hollywood?
The apartments in Hollywood aren't necessarily bad. They just don't offer the view you can get for the same price in Miami or Vegas.

Vegas will have the hottest white girls. You WILL be bored off your ass after living there for a week. Its boring suburbia once you get off the strip. Absolute shit. Girls in LA are good at the high end, but in the middle area, it blows and the girls all think they are hot shit and they are, on average, a bit older (girls in LA don't settle down or once they do, they move).

Long beach is far as hell from anything except Long Beach and there isn't much there. You're surrounded by asian communities in Lakewood, Cerritos, Garden Grove, etc if you're into that thing. You're closer to OC, but honestly, its better to just live in OC. If you're into young white girls, live in orange county- Costa Mesa or Newport Beach. The Valley may be a decent compromise, Studio City/Sherman Oaks/etc if you want to live in LA itself.

Look at San Diego beach cities too. Prices are cheaper and girls are more easily impressed.

I wanna rent out the apartment at first so I can travel to different countries before I start settling down looking for a job. I suppose I can make more money renting out in Hollywood/West Hollywood and Miami Beach/South Beach than Vegas Strip.

Meet me in Las Vegas cinco de mayo weekend and I'll show you something much better that you can do with $600,000. I doubt they'll take all of it, though. Maybe $100,000 tops and that's only because it is a big event.

They took $200,000 from you? Do go there a lot? I've had some casinos refuse to take more than $3,000 from me for some fights and I go there pretty often. When that happens, I end up just dividing my money among several casinos. Caesar's owned casinos tend to have really low limits. MGM is generally pretty good and on the bigger fights, lets me bet whatever I want.

Edit: Wait a second. You live in Switzerland? How did you even get $200,000 into the United States and more important, how did you get $600,000 out of the United States? Are you sure you are a German guy who lives in Switzerland and not a nineteen year old Indian guy from the deep south who transferred from a community college to a major university a while back? Your writing style looks familiar.

Super Bowl! Props to Broncos defense.
I've heard someone bet 600k on the Panthers. Poor guy, literally.

I do the same thing. Unfortunately, the banks I use are nowhere near the strip.

Just take a cab to wherever your bank is, buy a gun just to be safe and get that thing done. Open carry rules.

Sorry to rain on your LA parade, but for getting laid, LA is one of the worst big cities in the world. Particularly if you want white girls.

I strongly suggest getting a monthly airbnb first. To see how the reality of the place matches your expectations. Especially before committing to buying property. Which also happens to be some of the most overpriced in the world for what you get.

Yeah I was obviously leaning towards LA.
Absolutely right. You can get apartments that look twice as valuable as in Hollywood from what I've seen.

I'm in commercial real estate. When I said to buy an apartment, I wasn't saying to buy in LA and NOT a single unit, I meant multiple units in a secondary market / tertiary market such as Bakersfield, Fresno or even Stockton. In general you don't get cash flow in strong markets like Beverly Hills, San Francisco or even San Diego unless you out damn near 50% or more into the deal. It's all in the numbers. Don't play that "appreciation " game where you just buy something hoping it goes up in value. That's how people got docked in the subprime crisis. Cash flow is king

Thanks.
I have no intention in buying property in suburbs though. I intend to live there permanently after renting it out for 1-2 years.
Not trying to make it my main business.

@Courage Reborn

I don't know if it's the hardest place to get laid with white girls. Girls in LA are hell slutty, you just have to know how to play their games. My friends were getting laid constantly... I got lucky a couple of times. But I can't compare to other cities in the USA like Miami and such.

Not a good place to get into a relationship. Too much ego. Nobody wants to settle down. Everybody is looking for a break into the industry or looking for a millionaire boyfriend.

Long Beach in LA things are way cheaper but the reason being is simpels... it's pretty far from everything. Far from Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica... etc. My experience is taking a metro and taking 1 hour to get to Long Beach from Downtown LA (geez... it's far). But I can confirm it's a very nice are.

Santa Monica is LA is very nice. I use to walk around and see the houses, it's awesome. It's a mix of suburbia (where the houses are) and the crazy nightlife near the Santa Monica pier. It's paradise for single people.

Las Vegas in the strip is crazy town good (party every day) BUT the city in itsel, as some other users have said, is true boring suburbia. That's not that much to do. I've met some girls that were actually from Las Vegas and they were cute... that's the only kind-of meeting the locals situation I have.

$600k on real estate I think it's a bad idea.

It would be better to take that money and invest in a business, franchise or whatever else. Just focusing in the rent business has low returns, unless you get into buying/selling a house.

Buying a house under the market value, renewing the whole place... making it nicer and selling it.

Rent money would be my last resort personally. You would have a $600k investment to get $2k-$3k/month (depending on the place).

I say that just because my dad is in real estate and he's complaining about rent money all the time. Not making enough. Wasn't a very smart decision on his part, with the same amount of investment in a business he could be making $40k/month and not $2k/month

BUT

If you're buying a place that you want to live in the future, and for now rent just to have an EXTRA income. I can say I kind of understand it.

My dream is to actually buy a house in the Hollywood Hills. It will probably cost me $4 million in the future. So I'm saving that for when I am an actual multi-millionaire.

Thanks so much for all the information!
Yes, an other option is getting a mortgage for 400k so I'd be able to buy a 1 million $ apartment/house.

This guys story just screams troll to me. Now he went to vegas. Bets $200,000 props on Denver winning?

I can understand someone with 10 million making a bet like that. But a 19 year old. c'mon.

You guys are feeding a troll.

The problem I have is more that the sportsbook even took the bet, than the fact that a nineteen year old kid had $200,000 to bet. As I've said, I bet significant money on boxing at least once a year and on multiple occasions, some casinos have given me ridiculously low limits, notably Caesar's not taking more than $3,000 from me.

You are pathetic guys haha. Jealousy all over the place. I don't even know what an Indian Troll is, I haven't been on this forum for a few months. I just wanted to ask for advice. I don't give a f... about your Indian Race Troll.

Go to MGM ask them about limits at Super Bowl! One guy bet 600,000 on the Panthers in Vegas, you can even google it. Super Bowl limits are sky high. You can even bet 500,000 at 2 casinos. You have no clue what you're talking about.
