Changing Mentality

I made this account here but never really used it. The main reason why I didn't is because I fell back into my deep depression. I'm a 17 year old senior in high school that has never had a girlfriend, fling, or relationship in general. I've been depressed through all four years of high school. Never went to a party, kissed a girl, nothing. Yes, I'm a virgin. Last year I changed well I at least thought I did by being more social and more outgoing. I became the leader in my social circle and started speaking to girls but still no success. Had a chance for a bang, a girl invited me over and I made up a bullshit reason to decline. I felt unworthy of the bang, thoughts like "This shit doesn't happen to me" "I'm a loser, she must be crazy" "What if my dick's too small and she laughs?". Bullshit thoughts, I know. I started working out, became the biggest guy in my grade but nobody works out so it's not that much of an accomplishment. I actually got 2 numbers from 2 cold approaches. But all this stopped when I fell back into my depression. Never worked out, never texted a girl, or went out in 3 months. I would say I'm above average in looks, about 7/10 on a good day (got 2/2 numbers so I guess I'm not jaw dropping ugly). But my excess fat (17% body fat), and mediocre teeth (stained, chipped and one ingrown). Also I'm broke as fuck, I have to decline many invitations to hang out due to this that people have ended up not asking me anymore. Couldn't work due to a very intense semester. Now that that's done, I'm looking for a part-time job to fix this and maybe even pay for my dentist fees. Quick info: I'm 6'0" - 6'1" tall, black and live in Toronto (if that means anything). Starting a Lifting club at school soon, I'll be the president and learning French. Hopefully these things improve my overall confidence and self-esteem. Any tips on how to beat depression and get an overall positive mindset? People describe me as "looking dead" "Always mad" "arrogant" (Arrogant because I walk with my shoulders back and head tilted up).

Easy, bro.

You're on the right track, it just seems like you're overthinking the stuff that's going on your life.

Bad teeth? Sure, try to fix them if you can, improving your looks never hurts. But that alone won't get you pussy. There are ugly ass motherfuckers with revolting choppers out there and they still get laid.

Depression? I'm no expert on this but judging by friends of mine who suffered from it starting an active lifestyle helps tremendously. Going to parties, working out, walking outside whenever you can, chit chat with random people, surrounding yourself with positive people, traveling (preferably alone), spending less time on social media/internet and other passive activities. This kind of stuff.

From what you wrote, it appears you already know what to do in order to combat this phase. Get active and apply this knowledge. Nobody else is going to do it for you.

I wish I had started lifting when I was 17. 17 percent body fat is actually not a catastrophe at all and this will be your the last reason for not getting ahead with the girls. If you still wanna reduce that, try High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), it's the best training method for losing fat quickly.

Beat your depression and then focus on girls

Im a virgin, but Im smart enough to know you cannot get girls if you are unhappy

Love yourself first

Ive never been depressed before, but a way to beat it is to buy a calendar and mark a day with at least 1 red cross a week

That red cross represents something you will carry out that you enjoy (i.e a party, going to a football game, cooking a new delicious recepie) and you are looking forward to.
You need to continuously have things you look forward to and do things that put a smile on your face

There are many threads on this so search "depression" with the search feature. The most common recommendations seem to be sleep, nutrition, exercise, and managing stress levels.
