Recaptcha failing

I've been unable to post on a lot of stuff for some reason. The recaptcha has been failing for me with a message for the site owner saying "Mismatch ID" or some stuff.

Anyone else having this problem?

Im in China and the recaptcha doesn't load up properly. I don't have a VPN. As a result I cant send messages on the board. Everything else works fine, but sending messages always sends me to that page, which doesn't load up.

I was having some problems with it about a day ago - "invalid domain for site error" or some such - but it seems to have sorted itself out. Try doing Quick Post or Quick Edit to get around that. Updating Java may also have an effect, I'm not sure.

Java shouldn't have any impact on it. The site doesn't load any java applet nor do I even have it installed on my PC.

I was posting on my phone which may have had some impact on it. I'll clear my cache and see what happens.

@Ball don't lie, check out the Chrome extension "Hola" it's a VPN IP spoofing service for Chrome. I watch my American TV shows this way.

My first attempt to enter captchas when posting on this site always ends in an error. My second attempt usually works. When I enter a captcha to send a PM, it often accepts the captcha, but doesn't send the PM. I have to go back and resend it (entering a new captcha in the process) to actually send the PM.

It's not a big deal and the its not a big price to pay for the added site security, but is probably worth mentioning.

The recaptcha appears more often is there are perceived threats. I got it a lot yesterday but nothing today.

Try using the audio option.

Dumb-ass question of the day: What's recaptcha? Is that the screen that comes up where I have to prove I'm not a robot by typing in a phrase? I have no issues with that.

The issue I have on my phone is it shows a photo of a house number.

A photo of a wall on a building with a number plaque say "242" or "2413", I enter these in exactly and it just comes up with another picture- as if I got it wrong, which I didn't. Once it keeps doing that I have to close the window and try again. Seems to happen if I copy and paste a text or part of someone's post or a URL.

Never happens on my laptop, despite using Safari on both.

Nevermind, I see that it is.

The recaptha is set up so there will be a failure rate. I've had to re-do it a few times.

Every time I preview a post I'm writing or post a reply, I get a captcha.

At first it's just check the box. But if I preview a post or thread a couple times, then I have to choose "pictures of trees" or "pictures with food" every time.

Is there a safe user list? I don't like having to go through these captcha checks every time I preview or post.
