Back in the drivers seat

Hi Guys,
long time lurker, first time poster.
First off let me start out by saying that I am recently single, I just came out of a 3 year, long distance relationship to an older, insecure, very controlling woman. This relationship was a constant battle of who "wore the pants" so to speak. I was her first boyfriend, and I was also her first sexual partner. She was 22, and I was 19. I could go on for hours on end about how toxic the relationship was, but about 3 months ago I decided enough was enough and I broke it off.

After becoming single I didn't really know how to go about talking to other girls, as my I had almost zero confidence in myself as a result of the constant emotional and psychological fuckery I had to deal with.

Since breaking up with her I have met some great girls, had some fantastic bangs, graduated from university and gotten an amazing graduate position working FIFO.
I'm looking forward to improving my confidence, learning some game and enjoying my youth and claiming some notches.

Thanks Phoenix.
Mining, Australia is renowned for it's mining industry and as such has a large number of FIFO workers

Congrats on making what will no doubt be one of the best decisions of your life.

To be successful in a relationship a man MUST learn Game and improve himself. When I was younger, I frequently torpedoed my LTR's by not being Game-aware, pedestalization, stopped being the attractive guy I originally was that got her in the first place, etc.

I think the best advice would be to Read, Approach, Repeat.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in this coming year.
In the past 3 months I have definitely noticed a change in my attitude towards girls, I've become more aloof and stopped trying to make myself seem more "valuable" to them.
The pedastilization is a thing of the past, although occasionally it will rear its head and i'll have to try to reign it in.

We've all been there. The good old "three year relationship" phase. Re-immerse yourself, and take some action.

Yeah, thank god that stage in my life is over.
On a positive note, I had a great night out last night and I have a date on Monday.
