I'm new to the forum. I have been to the islands of Sao Vincente, Santo Antao and Santiago, to do some trekking and meet the people. Meeting the local women is not too difficult.

The 28th february 2017, there is the Carnival in Cape Verde. You can find information, photos and videos on this website =
http://carnaval.sapo.cv/carnavaldomindelo
An other website in French :
http://www.mindelo.info/_carnaval.php

Cape Verde is a tourist friendly place. Almost no jet lag if you come from Europe.

The local girls

You can find mixed women with long legs, round ass and big boobs. Sometimes they have really big ass, and they like to show it. The women are sweet, relax and feminine. Lot of very good bodies, but fewer cute faces.
In some place you will have an exotic factor as a foreigner, other places are full of tourists.
The most beautiful girls are in Mindelo, but your exotic factor is low here. The women of Praia have more the African type, your exotic factor is good here as Praia is not a touristic city.
Praia is a more traditional place than Mindelo. Thousands of people go to the churches on Sunday in Praia. Mindelo is more westernized (but nothing too bad).
I have banged a twenty years old girl via internet dating, big boobs, round ass. With more time I guess I can pick up in the street, but the cities are small and it quickly gets old to stay at the same place. It’s easy to get a phone number but you can expect some flaking.

The tourist girls
99 % of time, the tourist girls who come for trekking are old, almost dead or ugly, maybe it’s better in the beach resort in the islands of Sal, Boa vista and Maio. I have never been there.

The local men
Many Cape Verdean men are player. Some of them are very tall and athletic. I see one 30-something local guy try to pick-up a tourist grandma on the street.

The language
Everybody speak Portuguese and Creole (crioulo).
In Mindelo, 75 % of young women speak a little of French, English or Spanish.
In Praia, not many people speak a foreign language.
So if you have a weak Portuguese like me, you will lose some target.

Where to stay?

In Mindelo City:
The closer you are of « Praça Amilcar Cabral », the better. In this square, the people come to hang out and meet their friends.
If you want to listen to a concert you can go to « casa da morna », but it’s not really a place to pick up girl. There is a nightclub called Syrius but I didn’t check it.
If you want to meet sailors who go to Brazil or the West indies, there is a nice bar at the entrance of the marina.
There is a nice beach called Laghina close to the city center, in winter the people don’t go to the beach.

In Praia City:
The closer you are of « Rua 5 de Julho », the better. It’s a pedestrian street with a lot of bar, restaurant and little stores.
The district « plato » is the rich district of Praia. The other part of the city have more a third world vibe.

In Santo Antao Island:
It’s not the best place to meet girls. The cities are too small. You can stay in valley de Paul if you want to do trekking. Don’t stay in Porto Novo, it’s a boring town.

The carnival of Mindelo
It’s a big event with thousands of dancers. It’s free and it’s safe.
You must book your hotel in advance for the 2 days of the carnival and the week-end before the carnival. It’s very pleasant to see the women dancing in G-sting. A spectator yelled “rotation baby” at one of the scantily clad woman standing on the top of a carnival float. She rotated with a smile to show us her beautiful ass.
It seems hard to pick up woman in the crowd of the carnival. I didn’t try it I was just watching the show.

How to pick up girls?
A good way is to meet them when they are waiting for the bus. They called the buses « aluguer » (rental in Portuguese). The boat between the island or any public transportation are good too, or anywhere in a busy street.
For online dating, they don’t use Tinder (2 years ago when I was there), internet is too expensive, they use badoo for example.
I didn’t go to nightclubs, I was not available for this during the week end.
Many women are broke and don’t have credit for sms, in that case just call them or use internet if there is a connection.

How to go there?
The national airline TACV have a reputation of being late. The Portuguese airline via Lisbon seems more reliable. The taxi are supposed to have a paper with the fixed price of destination. When in doubt check wikitravel.

Random Tips
There are free internet connection on many public squares. It’s slow but you will see a lot of people with laptop outside.
If you want a cheap but nutritious food you can eat “Cachupa”. This slow cooked stew of corn, beans, and meat is the country's national dish. I like it.
Grogue is the local alcohol made from sugarcane. Ponche is a grogue plus something else like honey or fruit.
Santo Antao Island is a paradise for trekking if you like it. Amazing mountains, valley and old volcano. Amazing fields of sugarcane.
If you buy a sim card at CV telecom, check than they have activate the 3 g, I didn’t check it and didn’t have time to go there again. You need to bring your passport to buy a sim card.

Uau. Welcome to the forum. This is an excellent data-sheet and goes straight with everything that people from there told me about the country. +1

What do you think the conquistadores did?

They claimed they would bring back gold and spread Christianity. But who were they kidding?

They traveled to spread their seed.
Iberian women weren't putting out in those days.
And now we travel to bang their offspring in Brazil and Colombia. It's the circle of life.

In my opinion, it is simply vital part of game. Be an explorer, conquer unknown lands.

I didn't go there to game, and I'm not into black girls so with such preferences, you'd be better off heading elsewhere.

There were a fair few European tourists escaping the winter back home when I went. It's also a bit of a kitesurfing haven. The town was really spread out, which affected night game. Beach game wasn't very fruitful back then, though I'll chalk that to my lack of game — there was definitely a handful of talent to be had.

I'll admit that even without a preference for black girls, I did appreciate that the locals have an unusual and striking look to them.

Always wanted to hit Cape Verde. Went to college with a couple of CV females, which was my first time seeing them. They were BAD. My guys from Boston told me they had a small community out there. I know you can catch a direct flight from the States to Dakar Senegal, and a flight to CV is like 45 mins from there. On my wish list for sure.
