+1 Mixx. You ARE the NYC pimp. Gracias mi amigo! Jackson heights is the shit. I'm surprised at how friendly the people are here.
Which venues you ended up going to In Jackson Heights? My boy who is Dominican used to love hanging out in Northern Blvd in those bars that you had to pay $2 do dance and feel up on a chick. I went with him a couple of times but never got any play.

A few tips for people going to NYC.
Use Craigslist for accomodations in NYC. Hotels in NYC are NOT WORTH $200+ bucks a night, PLUS they are usually tiny rooms and have like 18% or something hotel tax!! You should be able to get a place to crash from about $50 or so on up and you can also rent whole apartments for much better rates than any hotel.
Tell me where in CL you are finding whole apartments for rent for less than hotel rooms in the same neighborhood so I can move there? Bottom line is if you want to stay in Manhattan and be near all the action you are going to have to pay. Recently I have started to noticed hotels being built in shitty areas in the outer boroughs and even in those areas those puppies go for at least $120 a night. This is quite cheap considering that motels go for $60 bucks for 3 hours.

Parking:
There is all the free parking you will ever need a few blocks away from the Bedford (7th St) station (1st stop in Brooklyn) on the L line. There are spots 24/7/, just walk the 4 blocks towards the water, plenty of spots along the east river. You don't need to pay for parking, just leave your car here, but you WILL need to return to move your car to avoid street cleaning rules. If you can't be bothered, try say Astoria Queens on the N line, lots of places only clean once a week.
I don't know about Astoria, but in most of Williamsburg(Bedford Ave station included) The parking situation is just as bad as in Manhattan. Shit, I live in the hood in Brooklyn and sometimes it takes more than 45 min to find a spot and I am nowhere near a train station.
If you are driving to NYC and don't want to spend a small fortune on parking just park your car in parts of Queens that have no alternative side of the street parking(Jamaica, Woodhaven, Howard Beach, etc). It has probably been a year the last time that I dared to drive a car in Manhattan.
