This trite shite was uttered by Time Inc. (Feminist) editor Nancy Gibbs (maiden name Gibbs :o), presumably on behalf of Norman Pearlswine, Time Inc. Executive VP and Chief Content Officer.

Time needs to please its corporate masters. Those "masters" are not its parent company, but its advertisers, board of advisors, etc., all of whom benefit from dumping Third World slave labor into Europe and America.

Merkel has been in the vanguard of that. The won't come out and say this, of course. They'll dress it up as "humanitarianism" and the sheeple will buy into it.

I fully agree that Merkel should be person of the year - she has caused the most damage in the world this year. The person of the year is selected for influece not benevolence, I am surprised so many still don't know that.

Trump has not became president yet, so obviously he should't be selected this year.

Now if Trump wins the election then I would bet that he would definately become person of the year in at least one year of his presidency.

Actually I would bet that whoever wins the 2016 American presidential election will get selected as Time's person of the year 2016, be it Trump or be it Hillary.

Another good andidate for PotY in the few next years is ISIS or muslims in general or migrants or refugees - Time has nominated groups of people before.

Argument invalid. It's a relevancy fallacy because you're talking about a broader category.


TIME explicitly picked her because they believe that she had a positive influence, and they say as much. The possible reasons really aren't relevant when the knee-jerk interpretation happens to be the correct one.

Hitler pulled Germany out of the great depression and in his first year decreased unemployment from 10million people to 4 million people, introduced working standards across Germany and was so good at what he did that the Austrians were practically begging him to annex them.
