I'm not sure if this should merge with the previous thread but I didn't want hijack.

Anyone been to Chang Mai? How is it on NYE? I'm flying solo as usual. I really don't have plans set I was thinking Chang Mai or phuket for NYE. . Already have a few dates lined up in Phuket and it would be easy to just chill there for the festivities.

However, Im also interested in Chang Mai. Anyone know about it? Is there a pulse up there especially onr nye?

Chaing Mai is known for having a notoriously dead nightlife compared to Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket.

Expats living there may disagree but from my experience asides from the student area, it's pretty dead.

However, I'm sure for NYE it will be live and kicking, but expect a a higher western % Thai ratio.
