Hate Reading: Millennials of New York

https://www.facebook.com/millennialsofnyc

Really nothing substantive to this post, but just found this facebook page called "Millennials of New York." I seriously hate these people, and reading this is my hate porn.

I find it hard to believe these people are really from New York. When I was growing up in the early 90's (god forbid 80's like my friends), the city was tough. No way in hell would someone go outside dressed as an amish hipster and not immediately get the shit beat out of them. Why do I miss those times?

Just another example of how downhill society has gone. Nietzche warned us that if we replaced substantive value systems, then we would end up with nihilism. Basically these people believe in nothing, their entire life philosophy can be summed up with trying to be as ironic as possible. What kind of life is that?

Most don't seem to care about anything, but if pressed of course they are social justice conformists. One girl posts political articles on facebook all day but doesn't actually read them, and she believes this is her one HUGE contribution to society and making it better. That truly encompasses the insanity, naivety, and ignorance of this generation perfectly. They know nothing and are proud of it, and yet they decide what is acceptable or not in society today.

Not all are bad, but just from the first few pics:

One dude talks about Justin Bieber's penis. 100 years from now his ancestors will find this quote and that will be the only record of his life. His entire existence, for the rest of human history, will be a footnote about Bieber's dick.

Nothing turns me on more than the girl with the angry facial expression and sarcastic comments. After all, why even try to be nice or feminine when thousands of NY betas are groveling at your feet?

One dude is dressed as an amish, but isn't.

I rest my case.

How are we supposed to tell?

The laugh test doesn't work on reality anymore.

At this point, the only way to tell satire from reality is that satire isn't as funny.

As a kid my Dad and I used to watch movies like Boiler Room, Goodfellas, A Bronx Tale, Basketball Diaries etc ... which were all based in New York & starred tough white guys of Italian or Irish descent.

I couldn't see any of that first time i visited New York which was like 5 years back while visiting my High School girlfriend who went to NYU.

All i saw was herbs like the ones pictured in the OP. Middle of fucking summer and my ex's roommate was wearing a scarf and using an old school typewriter to do his " Metropolitan Culture Essay".

Some if it is rather amusing... a little obvious, but funny.

You miss those times because it was justified to have your blood broil and not getting too trouble for it because cops were more concerned with Rape and Murder. It also allows you to wear a badge of honor for coming from somewhere that is tough as shit and survive.

Also, I don't respect Millennials and I am technically one of them. Then again I am a 26 year old that looks like 36 year old or a 41 year old. Maybe it is just a mismatch.

I just looked at the website. I didn't have any trouble recognizing the satire. They were obviously ripping off SWPL.

I remember reading a thread awhile ago about how stupid "humans of New York" was. I agreed completely. But I have since found the millenials page and it's great satire. I actually follow that page.
