A Manhattan socialite says her Swiss businessman ex found a unique way to make sure he got their $25 million art collection in the split — swiping the Basquiat and Warhol works right off the walls of their Fifth Avenue pad before he filed for divorce.

Tracey Hejailan-Amon filed suit in Manhattan Monday against her soon-to-be ex, Maurice Alain Amon, saying she collected between 17 and 20 modern works including Andy Warhol’s 1966 “Self-Portrait” and Jean-Michel Basquiat’s 1986 “Saxaphone” with her husband throughout their marriage.

Then, in October, Amon’s art consultants “surreptitiously” lifted the collection from their $16 million Manhattan apartment and stashed them in a Queens storage facility while she was abroad, according to the filing.

“These illegal and unlawful removals of the works of art is and was a strategic predicate for the service of a divorce action by Amon,” Hejailan charges in her suit.

He later filed for divorce in Monaco.

“She was in Europe and she didn’t even know what was going on. She thought she was happily married,” said Hejailan’s attorney, Aaron Richard Golub.

The spurned spouse says her estranged hubby is already trying to unload the Basquiat at a Christie’s auction on Nov. 10.

“Not the most subtle approach,” Golub added.

There’s no prenuptial agreement, according to the suit, and Hejailan says the divorce proceeding does not belong in Monaco — where there’s no legal concept of shared marital property — because the couple never lived there.

Hejailan believes she has a “substantial if not a 50/50 interest” in the works, her suit says.

In addition to the Basquiat and Warhol, the collection includes a 1971 untitled work by Cy Twombly, “Acridine” by Damien Hirst and “Nega Mushroom” by Takashi Murakami.

Amon owns a security company whose ink is used on the majority of currency worldwide.

The 64-year-old businessman and his 47-year-old bride married in Hong Kong in 2008 and have lived in London, Gstaad, Switzerland, and Paris.

A lawyer for Amon’s corporation that owns the pieces, Artmon Limited, told The Post that the collection is not marital property.

“Ms. Hejailan-Amon was fully aware of the artwork removal plans and her claims are without substance,” said attorney Peter Bronstein.

Hejailan’s suit seeks to block her husband and Christie’s from selling any of the art.

“All the works of art are unique, created by internationally renowned contemporary artists, cannot be purchased at any price elsewhere in the market,” the filing says.

Good on him, if it works out as he planned. If he files for divorce in another country, does that even work legally as a means to get out of paying alimony? I somehow doubt it.

Chances are she didn't look quite so ridiculous when they met.

These old, rich bitches just become fucking addicted to plastic surgery.

They need to know how to grow old with grace and accept that their husbands are gonna be banging young sluts till the day they die. It's how it's always worked and always will work. As long as he comes home etc etc.

I can see why a moderately rich guy can gain from an appropiate marriage. He gets status, another rung on his social ladder, he shows his fellow executives and CEOs that he is "one of them" by marrying the sister or cousin of one of the tribe.

But what can one of this rich-as-fuck dudes gain from marrying a bimbo, I cant understand.

What can he gain from divorcing her, I cant see either. Just set her up in a penthouse somewhere and travel around the world with 18 year old "models". Then when its social time at the country club blow the dust off of your legal wife. Unless you are dumb enough to marry a woman whose lawyers are more expensive than yours.

If you just simply pay her to stay away from you that can work. But then she can't rinse another guy as she won't be able to re-marry if still married to you.

If she is already in those rich circles then she now has access to more. 01% men and could probably just move laterally and still get a rich ass dude.

Intersting is how thus guy got rich. What did she do? What did she invent? To warrant her staying in that lifestyle? I never understand this BS of how IRS does right to maintain a woman who was unfit to remain with, to keep her at your level, once you split. Why didn't she use that environment to start making her own money selling high end Tupperware or some shit.

Think about what that means.

Am I the only one confused by these two statements?

I too thought that was interesting. What part were you referring to?

Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.

Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.
