I've gotten pretty into the show, I like the premise a lot. But I do find myself irritated enough about one aspect to write this post.
It is full of women leaders, and the men leaders are always fucking up while there's always a women he should have listened to. This one real basic dumb blonde bitch "Clark" (note the androgynous name) is made out to be like the John Conner of leaders. The female emotional and sentimental reasoning for decision-making gets rewarded. The one woman who is a hot, feminine, smart, sexy Latina who happens to be an engineering/mechanical genius finds herself crippled. That's subliminal messaging too I'd say.
While there are a few alphas, there is no lack of whit-knighting and the males always sacrificing themselves for the females. There's even a scene where a guy dies falling off a cliff while repelling to save a girl dangling from the cliff. There's no mourning or sense of loss whatsoever, the guys just try the same damned thing again but the second time just barely being successful. The male characters are completely dispensable, and some of the group dynamics would only make sense or be slightly believable to mind of a high-schooler (probably the show's target audience as the main characters are high-school age).
Anyways still a good show, I will keep watching it, but I do note a lot of blue pill and/or feminist underpinning.
