So what they're saying is someone who is born a man but is regarded as a woman after a strategic use of some bolt cutters, are now more woman than natural born females.

Germaine Greer has always been anti-trans. So has Sheila Jeffreys. And many feminists of that second wave era too. Their reasoning is "sex is biological, gender is a construct". No matter what a transvestite woman does, that person is still a man and can never know what it is like to be a woman. That they use women's bathrooms and go to "womym's only spaces" is seen as an affront, even threatening, to many feminist (and non-feminist) women.

The best way to troll a feminist is to play the "you belong to a transphobic, homophobic, exclusionary movement" card rather than "men are better than women duh". The second narrative she is ready to attack but the trans-card kills her victimhood status which is key to feminist identity.

Claiming a man is woman just because he says so follows a long tradition of hysterical, peer-pressure-induced medical ignorance that's a hallmark of the USA.

Other similar embarrassments over the past 50 years included people believing that "refrigerator" mothers caused autism and schizophrenia, the belief that masturbation led to blindness, and the mistaken notion that asthma was purely psychological. (I know there are others; these are just the most obvious.)

If you go into a hospital the FIRST thing they make you fill out on the form is "male" or "female." Why is that? It's so they can assess you properly and calibrate meds and fluids. If a nurse mistakenly puts "male" on a women's chart, and she's doses with meds to befit a man, odds are she'll overdose and sue the hospital for malpractice. That right there might tell you male and female are two distinct things and can't be interchanged.

And yet the public wants to deny basic biology because it's trendy and the powers that be have arbitrarily decided this is the cause du jour. This is really scary because it makes you wonder what other reality people can deny and what awful paths they can be led down. People will believe any trendy crap the TV spews forth. What's worse is that they then have the audacity to criticize those who question it as "heathens."

Technology moved forward. People are still the same ignoramuses they were in the era of "The Crucible" when a bunch of attention-whoring teenage girls led entire towns to believe witches and evil spirits were real.

Germaine Greer is no man's friend. Any point needing making should exclude her.

The only thing interesting about Greer is that she set herself up for a DHV from Bill Clinton at Oxford in 1970:

Seems Cardiff isn't cancelling her lecture in the interests of freedom of speech. November 18 at that university is shaping up to be a three ring circus with plenty of clowns and no ringmaster. There are petitions and counterpetitions flying back and forth on this one.
