I moved to Phoenix earlier this year. I always figured Scottsdale would be my main stomping ground, but thought Tempe/ASU would be a goldmine as well. But every time I've gone down to Mill Ave to check out the nightlife, I've been disappointed. Sure you'll see a young stunner here and there, but I've found it to be a sea of fatties and mediocrity on the whole. It's like college chicks don't even try anymore. Luckily, Scottsdale I've found to have a much better target selection.

I was at a club a few weeks ago and the DJ was amazing, everyone was smoking weed, the girls outnumbered the guys 4to1 and everyone was on their fucking phone, even the dudes. I leave my phone in the car when I am out because I look at a screen all goddamn day, why would I do it on my free time? The time has come to admit it was a mistake to give people a camera/video recorder 24/7, it is annoying , people over do it, and smartphones make traffic dangerous.

I think it's some weird cultural thing that goes way back. I remember going inside a Hong Kong Chinese woman’s apartment years ago before smart phones existed and I noticed that her background on her computer was her. There was also a big framed photo of her with money inside it.

A lot of FOB Chinese I’ve come across have their own photo as their background too.

I fucking despise selfies, the way I see a photo is ; “if I like this, can I blow it up and frame it?”. You can't do that with a selfie.

As well as selfies a lot of east Asians can’t sit down and eat without photographing their food. Most Yelp reviewers in the US seem to be of an Asian background.

I was at Disneyland once with a FOB Chinese woman and she was filming the fucking fireworks. Who wants to see that on a smartphone? She should just take in the experience and enjoy it.
