Where is the best area to stay in Valencia?

Near the Beach?

In the old city?

Here: Navarro Reverter, 14
46004 Valencia, Spain ?

Keeping in mind, girls, clubs etc

Hey dude, I just looked up that postcode. That's absolutely fine. In terms of day game you'll be in a prime spot. A stone throw from El Barrio del Carmen, Plaza de la Reina and Xativa all the bustling places during the day so that will be fine. Near the beach can be a bit boring I think as there isn't a lot always going on there, so I think you will be well positioned.

In terms of getting to venues etc, Valencia despite being Spain's 3rd city is easily navigable and you can get around in taxis fairly cheaply. E.g. from your place to La Luna Rossa near the beach wouldn't be a massive ball ache. All in all I think you're in a good spot man. If you want to get a nice paella takeaway lunch, there was a place I used to go to on Isabel la Catolica just off Marques del Turia if you want to try it, I highly recommend it. Enjoy man and tell me about your experiences.

Nice tips.

"Near the beach can be a bit boring I think as there isn't a lot always going on there"

Are the bars good by the beach, or are they better in the centro.

I have found that in some Spanish beach towns, the night action lacks around the beach (which is kind of strange).

Basically I am looking for Spanish beach towns with good "set ups". Ie the beach is close to the night action.

Thoughts on the matter?

Well your observations are right, I would say in some respects it resembles Barcelona slightly. Whilst Barcelona has Port Olimpic...Catwalk, Opium Mar, Shoko etc. Other than that you kinda have to go into town to hit it hard sometimes you know?

La Luna Rossa is situated near there and also there is a small strip of bars on the front, of which I recommend 'Vivir Sin Dormir' which has a similar type vibe to Shoko of BCN but doesn't turn into a club, it's more a cool, trendy large bar that can be buzzing on the weekends, definitely worth checking out. Opens at 12:00am - that should tell you all you need to know.

I just had a look on this it talks about a place also called Las Ánimas which could be worth looking at, I had a browse on the website just..

Didn't go there personally, so I can't offer advise on that one.

It wouldn't be Marbella or another tourist orientated costal resort, whereby the main strip and action are right next to the beach. To this end you might be disappointed. But with the variety of nightlife available and the easy commute around the city, I'm sure you would enjoy your stay there.
