India is like dating a psychopath, high highs and really low lows.

So true, that quote describes travelling around India perfectly

Most interesting country I have been to, awesome sights but some days you want to tear your hair out in frustration. Having said that I'd go back in a heartbeat.

I think it would be hard to score tourist girls in India - the frustrations of travelling, the dirt, diarrhoea, cheap hotels, men constantly harassing females - none of this is going to help get foreign girls in the mood.

This thread makes me wanna go back there. While I haven't been there for 9 years I'd like to see how the country has changed. Only problem would be which city. I am looking at goa, Mumbai, kerala maybe some other less known city

So here it goes I am 5'7
170 pounds.
I am Indian myself but don't look Indian at all. Almost the same skin colour as roosh. Bankroll around 4 grand.
So which city would be the most of my liking?

It helps if you have someone on the ground to guide you around. The current lot of urban millenials in the cities below are pretty cool to hang around.

1. Mumbai. High end scene is great, decent chances of getting laid. Bipolar city - you'll see some of the richest and some of the poorest people within minutes of each other. Avoid going during the monsoon (Jun-Sep/Oct), heavy rains clog the city up. Best times in winter (Nov-Feb). Lots to see, amazingly varied food. Hindus, Muslims, Zoroashtrians, Christians and Jews all have their own specific cultural landmarks, food, celebrations depending on what time of the year you go. Somewhat progressive city.

2. Pune. (The arts and brewing scene is pretty great here, a lot of things to do here if you've got someone to show you around). Called the Oxford of the East, large student population. Whatever your race or ethnicity, you'll have a great time here, excellent chances of getting laid. Weather is decent throughout the year. Very progressive city (except for valentine's day - racially charged politics on that day for some reason). My personal favorite.

3. Bangalore (avoid the IT crowd, a majority are either pretty frustrated or extremely nerdy, also cliquish). Traffic is a nightmare, weather is decent, a few places to get laid.

4. Agra - Shithole of a city, people always looking to rip you off. But the Taj Mahal is larger than life and definitely worth a detour if you can make it.

5. Delhi - Need to be a little careful because some times it can get dangerous. Bipolar like Mumbai (melting pot of cultures and whatnot. Many historically significant places, as well as modern places to chill out). Guide recommended.

6. Kolkata - Dirty, but worth a day or two, just for the food. Try going here during the Durga Puja time, pretty sick.

7. Chennai - Avoid like the plague. Bad weather all year round, bad water, people extremely proud of their own culture (a nightmare if you don't speak the local Tamil language, people absolutely REFUSE to speak Hindi/English).

8. Kerala (is a state) - Decent places to visit, usually safe, cheap, people are somewhat friendly.

9. Goa (I think this is a state?) - Overrated in my opinion. Locals are lazy AF, druggies and degenerates and old russian tourists swarm the beaches. There were a few unspoiled beaches and I had a surreal time, but that was because one of us had grown up there and a few contacts on the ground. Bacon was weird.

10. Sikkim(state) - Beautiful. Hiker's paradise.

11. Avoid Uttar Pradesh & Bihar. Largely lawless.

12. Punjab - Can be a hit or miss. People are obsessed with being larger than life. Kinda like the Texas of India? A large part of the current crop of kids have become druggies, and from what I gathered this has become a really big problem outside of the cities. Don't take my word on Punjab though, perhaps other members can chime in here.

P.S. If you have someone like a friend or family on the ground, India is a pretty rewarding experience. Getting someone you trust and who knows the area is highly recommended.

P.P.S. I'll be heading down to Pune for Christmas, so if there's forum members there who want to meet, I'm down.

Happy to answer any other questions.

So the reason Bombay/Pune/Bangalore are on top of the list are because they are

1. Progressive
2. Current young crop is pretty fun, unlike the stereotypes.
3. They're ambivalent towards foreigners, in that, because so many foreigners visit these cities (for vastly different reasons), they're not seen as particularly different, people will ogle you less, chances of getting ripped off are much less etc.

P.S. Bombay/Pune are only 3 hours apart by car, so you can definitely club these two together. (Same holds true for Delhi-Agra) If you have a lot more time, like more than 2 weeks, then you should probably drive down to Goa from Pune (I think there's a Bombay-Pune-Goa freeway or something, just google it though).

- If you're only doing Bombay-Pune, English is just fine.
- Hindi will always help (so if you've got Indian features and you speak English with a non-Indian accent, people will either think you're a little stupid or make fun of you for trying to be a poseur).

- Pro Tip - The local language in both these cities is Marathi, not Hindi, and many locals will be extremely proud of their culture (regardless of religion. You'd see Muslims, Jews, Christians and Hindus all very fiercely protective of local culture and language). Kinda like Chennai, although people are more accepting of others. So, even though you may get by comfortably with Hindi/English, you'll find that even if you speak very rudimentary Marathi, people will go out of their way to help you. I always try to pick up the local language/dialects in foreign lands, so found this out by accident. My intonation was terrible at best, but the 10-15 Marathi phrases that I picked up ensured that

a) The landlady started getting me breakfast and chai every morning
b) Rickshaw drivers/Shopkeepers were less likely to rip me off. Many would even suggest alternate food/places to visit.
c) Millenial chicks squealed with delight, and coarse Marathi became an opener of sorts.

Ping me before you leave, I'll help you with the language or specific spots you may want to hit.

Sharkie, I can't believe it! I'm going to India for 4 weeks from early December till just after Christmas, then I'll be bouncing to Iran for a couple of weeks. In India, I'll be spending about 2 weeks in Pune itself visiting family. Although I've been born and bred in New Zealand, I can speak fluent Marathi as its my mothertongue. I got some mutual friends there who have tight connections to the night-life scene.

Mate, it would be fantastic to meet you and KC4 there!

I don't know if I'll be in Pune then. There's a good chance I'll be in some other part of India with family. It'll be most likely for me to be in Pune from early to mid-Dec.

I've never really tried getting with girls in India/Pune so I don't know the places to be. That being said it can be easy for me as I could meet them through contacts.

Im flying out from New York on the 21st so if you're still around then, let me know.

Stuff you have to do in Pune -

There's the annual Bacardi/VH1 NH7 Weekender on Dec 4,5,6 in Pune.
If you're only there for a week or two, thats the best place to meet girls.

Artist Lineup

[Image: Bacardi-NH7-Weekender-Pune--Shailo-Shiv-...k=UEZbgbYT]

There's the Osho Ashram if you're interested (I wouldnt go there, but hey)

The (most prestigious?) Ganesha Temple in the city

[Image: dagdusheth-halwai-ganapati-temple-pune.jpg]

Get the fried goat brains and Roomali Roti at Goodluck(highly recommended)

[Image: main-qimg-1dc5a2d150f79b2617f524b6b973ce..._webp=true]

Drink craft beer at a multitude of microbreweries in the city.
I'd recommend TJ's Breweries
Get the Devil's Dark Brew == Guinness ; there's also a pale wheat beer which used to be good.
Alternatively start of with a sampler of all the different ones they have.

The iconic Vaishali Restaurant on Ferguson College Road
-- Cheese Tomato Onion Uttapam / Mysore Dosa. If you go in the evening get this thing called S.P.D.P.
Its sweet/sour/another flavor I cant describe

Visit the Jewish Synagogue (called Lal Mandir -- The Red Temple)

J.W.Marriott's club. I think its called Pasha or Mi-a-mi.
Wednesday is Girl's Night out or something. You want to go during the Girl's night.
The cover for dudes might be higher that day, but the ratios are far superior.

[Image: miami-lounge-pune-live-620x330.jpg?2e1e1f]

Hotel O right next to the Osho ashram which used to have sip-n-swim parties on select days --
rooftop pool where you get drunk. Decent ratios again.

There's also a multitude of malls and shit,
but your friends will be better sources for which ones are good since my information is a bit dated.
