Article in the guardian blaming boys and sexism for rise in mental health issues

Here

What a load of shit. Young girls problems are other girls, not boys. Amongst the great many young girls I have associated with 'sexism' and 'harrasment' has been the absolute least of their problems.

The writer quotes an 18 year old girl guide as a source ffs.

Ignoring the red herring concerning the shaming/blaming of men, the presumption of their problems being caused by "Mental health issues" is itself unquestioned. "Mental health issues", "syndromes", and "disorders" are, like any other non-objective "disease", more of an excuse than a real diagnosis.

What should really be discussed, but won't be, outside of a few places of resistance left, like here. In fact, mention that phrase too loudly and you may get "free" beer thrown on you.

The fact that this article pops up in the "Life & Style" section of the Guardian says a lot about how mothers view their daughters: accessories in life whose importance ranks up there with these super serious topics:

Enough with Heston Blumenthal’s puffing puddings at the Fat Duck – I’d prefer a dog’s dinner

Do you have to be middle-class to like rocket? (I think it’s horrible)

Tim Dowling: why does August have to go on so long?

I know, I know. It is very easy to mock media that is directed towards women, as it assumes some very negative things about womankind, but since we are talking about the fate of the next generation and not displeasure with calendars and pudding, why does this article (and others like it) pop up here?

This is a quote by the sage and wise 24 year-old Emma Gees who promulgated the survey relied on by the article:

Quote:Quote:

There are so many double standards, and girls are confused about what to do and how to behave, and they don’t know where to turn for advice and help.

First blush: the free-for-all of sexual liberation and second-wave feminism has some clear-cut losers and those people are called children and teenagers.

Second blush: These "depressed" girls already know thing with perfect clarity -- their mothers are completely worthless and they learned this at a very early age.

Quote:Quote:

I think it should be part of the curriculum and people like teachers and frontline staff should have training to know how to talk to young people about these issues

You mean training on how to help a girl find her way into womanhood? On figuring out who she is? What her role in life should be? You mean generational tasks for mothers, aunts, grandmothers and the rest of the decaying "family unit?"

Quote:Quote:

And in order for girls to be fully supported, that training, Gees believes, needs to include an understanding of societal double standards.

Ah, there is some real mother/daughter bonding in 2015 -- hoping the problem has a penis.

When elders make no demands of the young, the young cannot grow up. When the female elders of a generation are tap, tap, tapping away on their iPad's reading retarded articles about poodles, "dadcore" fashion and how to take better selfies, its no wonder that their charges have no direction in life. When grown women are wasting their time wishing that sexism is the reason that their daughters are so depressed, so alienated from life, it is no wonder their daughters are so depressed -- they are alienated from their own family.

Quote:Quote:

In fact, it’s not about what they’ve done at all, but they don’t have the confidence to challenge it. What kind of a world is that?

The problem isn't a deficit of confidence, it is that the next generation was given nothing to believe in.

The day decent looking young women shoot up places and write manifestos due to lack of dick will be the day I might pay attention to their silly, asinine, hypochondriac-laden bullshit.

This reminds me of back in the 1990s when Senator Barbara Mukulski called for studies on women's health because it was being neglected.

Men died five to seven years before women then, as they do now. I'd say that when you die younger, that's the biggest health problem there is.

Both of these cases are a case study in the sort of intellectual sleight-of-hand feminists are so good at. Claim something as a "women's problem" and you magically get people to ignore the big picture.
