Another shooting in Louisiana. First the shooting of a deputy directing traffic in Des Allemands, then the state trooper getting shot. Now this. Not to mention the guy apparently stabbed two people before he shot the cop.

What is going on here.

UPDATE: The suspect is now in custody after barricading himself inside a gas station.

The standoff began after the suspect reportedly stabbed inside a home inside a home on Anna Street in Sunset, then shot a police officer who was called to the scene.

He then fled the scene and drove his vehicle into the JR Food Mart, several blocks away.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says the suspect has barricaded himself inside the store.



KLFY has learned that a man has barricaded himself inside the JR Food Mart in Sunset. Police are trying to talk to the suspect into surrendering.

The man stabbed two people on Anna Street and then drove his vehicle into the JR Food Mart. He then barricaded himself inside of the convenience store

We have a crew live at the scene. Acadian Ambulance has sent eight ground units and three ground units to the scene.

One patient is currently en route via Air Med to a hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound. Another patient is also being reportedly transported to a hospital via St. Landry EMS.
