When I clicked on it, it showed a row of other guy's profile pics across the top. Everytime you hit refresh it would load a new set of guys on top. What struck me is how atrocious the competition level is on PoF. The guys on there are clueless as to how to even take a decent pic. Guys standing in their bathroom mirror wearing a wife beater or a grainy photo taken on a cell phone cam while riding in the back seat of a car. The girl photos probably ain't much better. You can't play nice guy on there! The girls that date online want attention or to be abused.I've been pulling ass online since windows 95 came out and its been that way strait out of the gate and the best fucks have come from women who I destroyed with a nasty first message.
Try and play nice/interested and they get bored in 2 messages and move on. That does not mean that you have to go in over the top but, just balance it out...

Damn. 7 pages of contacts in a day?? Just goes to show the 80/20 rule in effect. Or in the case of online dating, it's probably 95/5. They say the average guy who signs up to a dating site doesn't get even a single first contact from a girl. My guess is that there are a few guys similar to the dude you set who are up their necks in pussy. And the 95% just aren't getting shit.

Anyone had experience with photoshopping profile pics? I did mine, but just adding a little color, removing slight acne and clearing the background, nothing I couldn't attain naturally. I figure you could alter your face slightly to appear more attractive, yet still look very realistic. If it's too unrealistic, she might just bolt come meet time. Tell me about it. It also goes to show how far mainstream good-looks (i.e., white dude with squarish jaw) will get you online. It would be interesting to take a good-looking guy with no European stock and compare the results.

I know a guy who does photo retouching for a living and polishes all his online pictures (dating websites, facebook). I don't think it makes a dramatic difference, but he seems to think it helps.

Im doing a little experiment, a lot of what we're focusing on is how shallow women are, but maybe thats not the case. I copied the jist of Dash's profile, and edited so that it relates to myself (kept as much of the original content as possible)

I'll have my pictures, but that profile. Maybe its the bluntness and directness of the profile is what's catching not necessarily the looks. (in fairness I'm also a white guy though)

How tall is your friend? This guy in the fake profile is 6'2" and that does go a long way. Also, I've heard POF's matching algorithm is really complex - for instance, on a regular search it would never show you chicks that are taller than you. Plus, it also does a lot of shit based on your education, income etc.
