Ideas/ things from the past that you wish still existed.

Lifestyles like little house on the prairie.

A living for those who aren't afraid of hard work, men were men, and women were women.

Small, caring communities full of good people.

Leisurely travel. Think crossing the Atlantic on a steamship in relative comfort, as opposed to spending 6 hours crammed into a flying sardine can. Once upon a time, journeys were to be enjoyed, not simply endured for as little time as humanly possible.

Frontiers that were conquerable with a bit of money, hard work, and grit. Nowadays, the remaining frontiers require the backing of a nation state to explore (deep ocean and space). Yeah, I guess it's better for humanity that we've conquered most of the natural frontiers, but it sucks from an individual standpoint because I can never try myself.

Honest speaking.

Real talk.

Homosexuality seen as an anomaly.

Jobs minding their own fucking business.

Women being feminine.

Shaming bad behavior.

The government letting parents raise their own kids.

Male teachers.

I will be checking my PMs weekly, so you can catch me there. I will not be posting.

Image-wise, most artists these days are pretty much like an open book about their life and work. Leave something to the imagination.

Think KISS and Zeppelin.

Elementary schools that didn't have computers. Kids don't need to be on a computer, or the internet before their age is a double digit number.

Universities that aren't degree mills.

People have cause and effect mixed up now-a-days. Universities used to be great because smart people went to them, even if you took a liberal arts degree it meant something because you had to be smart/really hard working to be accepted.

Now people are trying to go to university, playing pin-the-tail-on-the-degree, and expecting that they will become smart.
Of course many do learn valuable skills, but there is this pervasive mentality that dropping university standards and sending everyone off to uni will somehow make they smarter. It's like noticing that the best basketball teams are chocked full of tall people, and then concluding that if you send off your population to play basketball... they will get taller.

Anyway, even though it doesn't really affect me, I don't like that the average university degree doesn't really mean anything anymore. I can't really fault the parties involved though. Universities want more money, so they dumb down standards. Most young people think university is what everyone does. Most middle class parents still remember when a degree was worth a damn. And I suppose some well meaning politicians (there are some), think that more, indiscriminate, education is good for the economy because good economies tend to have good education.

But accomplishments are valuable BECAUSE they are difficult. If you remove the difficulty, guess what happens...?

- Oh, you know what else is gay? It's very related to trying to get everyone to go to university. It's the notion that everyone is equal and everyone deserves the same respect. I hate this notion because it disrespects people who are actually great, much in the same way that "beautiful at all size" fat propaganda disrespects the effort feminine women put in to eat clean and stay thing.

edit: I can't grammar.

more edit: I miss when people from the USA could easily play online Poker.

I'd like to be able to flirt with females in the workplace, if there are any. I'd like to see a world in which parents can raise their kids again without statist interference.

Women's suffrage - you know what im talkin' bout.

I'll go a step further: Voting should be restricted to what it once was: Successful men over the age of 21. No kids, no women, no losers.

Successful as in land owners? Or a certain income, etc. I think this is a good idea. Definitely no one on welfare should be able to vote.

After school, kids going to their friend's down the street and playing outside at such things as basketball, football, smear the queer, skateboarding or jumping BMX bikes on homemade ramps instead of vegging out on social media or video games indoors

The (quasi-Pareto) distribution of women into known and accepted classes. There were the "proper women" who were, if not virginal, chaste. They were for marriage and family. Then, there were the "other women" who were for fun and practice (and you usually paid, one way or another). Whores and sluts have always existed. But, for much of our history we openly recognized them as such and accurately assessed that women could move down the ladder, but never up. Retconning this and playing make-believe have led us, in part, to the situation many of us lament today.

You can do this today. If you are a bit "flexible" in your religious beliefs.

When the education bubble pops in the U.S., this will happen. I'm not sure about Europe, but those governments can't support their budgets forever.

This. Universal suffrage is bullshit. Many (if not most) have no skin in the game. In fact, they are incentivized to vote for demonstrably bad policies. There is a piece somewhere written by (I believe) Ann Coulter that deconstructs single issue voting patterns from before women got the vote and after. Truly enlightening. Also, you can easily see the male vs. female voting patterns in the 2016 election.

Currently out of office.

If you can find that piece out n voting I'd be grateful. My own googling didn't turn it up.

Wearing hats and carrying a cane. Sounds trivial, but I feel that I've really missed out on this for some reason.

Waging war where if you win you get to seize booty-literally. If you're fighting the enemy risking life and limb then if you win you get to bang the finest pussy the defeated tribe has to offer, this has always been the way of history. Versus today, where you can't so much as look at the conquered country's girls the wrong way after almost getting your legs blown off without being court martialed but (((banksters))) who never stepped foot near the battlefield are the ones who get to do the raping and pillaging off the back of your victory. It's like being cucked, really.

Re-institutionalizing the mentally ill. The vast majority of the 'homeless' are schizophrenics or suffer from other chronic mental illnesses. Pre 1960s, these people where pulled off the streets and housed in state funded institutions. Most were not "houses of horrors" that Geraldo Rivera discovered the NYC run institutions to be.

Real money, gold and silver, and the absence of an income tax.

We started to lose real money after the War of Northern Aggression, lost gold for good in 33 and silver after 64.

Income tax was unconstitutional until 1913.

Intellectual integrity. A sincere commitment to the truth and its honest pursuit, versus the thought-fads, ”consensus" parroting, shilling, bad-faith cherry-picking, gotcha-ism, malicious and tendentious misinterpretation, outrage-parsing, and all-around sophistry that passes for discussion on any topic nowadays.

Grown men behaving as such. Dressing appropriately for the occasion (meaning work clothes for work as much as "Sunday clothes" for more formal occasions). Being a leader in their family, business, and community - and if not a leader in the latter two, a productive follower or team member. Demonstrating emotional continence, self-restraint, and self-confidence. In contrast to loosely-termed men who wear basketball shorts and flip-flops in public, don't want the responsibility of leadership (or can't handle it) but peevishly resent and interfere with any other man taking it on, melt down or rage at the slightest provocation, and are generally insecure and indecisive man-children rather than adults.

People taking pride in their appearance, and that of their families, homes, neighborhoods, and communities. People of Sears-Roebuck vs. People of Walmart.

The idea that as citizens you work together to improve your community and country, rather than every tiny faction competing to wield power over all the others, and to destroy every person or institution that stands in the way. Practical, realistic caution and probity (Chesterton's Fence) over ignorant, malicious, and nihilistic "revolutionary" zeal or harebrained idealistic schemes for social regeneration that are so good they have to be implemented thru deceit or force.

1. Patriarchy
2. Old time music - the blues, ragtime, rock 'n roll, good old fashioned bluegrass (the real hillbilly shit). You can still find it and there are plenty of revival bands out there but the old stuff is still the best.
3. Women having long hair, conservative dress, and a nurturing rather than hyper-competitive ethos... general femininity.

Out of everything in the past you wish still existed, you wish you could still violently rape women...
