The ultimate European summer destination (no mainstream sausage fest)

Hey everyone,

I know this has been discussed before but in this thread I want to talk about mostly Eastern European cities and not typical summer hot spots like Mykonos, Ayia Napa, Lloret de Mar, Mallorca and Hvar. Those places seem to attract tons of party hungry people but there’s just no quality when you walk into a club where it’s 9 guys for every girl. Plus, I’m not a huge fan of binge drinking on a sandy beach when it’s 40 degrees outside. So what I’m looking for is:

a) The percentage of quality girls.
b) Value for your money.
c) Good selection when it comes to nightlife.
d) Not being a ghost town where everyone leaves for the beaches.

I’ll list a couple of cities and countries below and tell things I know about or have heard about them. I hope you guys can give me your opinions and input so I can decide on a nice destination for 10 days from for July or August.

Hope this will help many people.

Krakow: Awesome place; gorgeous city and high end girls. Great value for the money. You can buy a 1 liter bottle of Zubrowka vodka for 4 bucks. Loved it there. But I heard it’s pretty much empty when summer comes since all the students leave for the beaches. What a pity.

Lviv/Odessa: Would have been great to combine Lviv with Krakow. Ukrainian women are pretty much on top when it comes to looks. And around 1.90 dollars for a Big Mac menu seems like everything in Ukraine is (almost) free at the moment. But I have no idea how the war in Crimea has had an impact there and in general I’ve never heard anything about Lviv during July and August. Any ideas?

Gdansk/Sopot: Which brings me to my next point. If all young girls from the major Polish cities head north to the beaches, it just seems too good to be true. What’s the catch? I mean it can’t be that you can get your cultural dose in Gdansk and then head to some pristine beaches to Sopot and party all night. I guess it might be empty or just very small in general.. Any first-hand experience?

Tallinn/Riga: I know that’s two different countries. But they’re only 4 hours apart and the bus ride is a bargain. I suppose those cities are filled with drop dead gorgeous girls and from what I’ve heard it must be super cheap. How’s the nightlife? Are there many locals there during the hot summer months or are they all leaving for the beaches? Never been there and I’ve not many friends who know more about it.

Belgrade: Spalvs, extremely cheap and nice girls. Belgrade seems great. It seems to have every ingredient to have a great time. What do you guys think about Belgrade?

Budva: So let’s just skip all this hype about Croatia and how beautiful it is. Sure, it’s pristine. But the tourists ruined it. People from the UK, the US and Canada are running this place over. The party spots are plain sausage fests and the cities on the coast are filled with tourists which impacts the prices for every God damn thing in a terrible way. But what about Budva? This one seems like a hidden gem to me. Not many Western tourists, low prices and all the girls you’ll see are from the Balkans. Opinions?

Ohrid/Skopje: My grandparents own a house in Ohrid and the lake itself is crystal clear and the water temperature is the most perfect you’ll every stumble upon. Beautiful city and everything is dirt cheap. The nightlife is nice but it’s just a rather small city so it has its limitations. Skopje is pretty “meh”. Nothing special except for the low prices and female beauty.

Budapest: I suppose it’s rather inexpensive but at the same time it will have a lot of tourists. Never been there and I hope one of you guys can tell me about this city during summer months. Hungarian girls seem nice though and I guess there’s plenty of nightlife going on. My only fear is that it’s not become a second Prague which has lost all its native inhabitants and every person in every single club, ever is not Czech but instead a tourist. Ugh.

Bodrum: From what I’ve heard it’s the party destination in Turkey. Swedish and Russian girls coming to enjoy some sea and sun. Doesn’t seem bad at all.

Istanbul: Although this city has huge potential due to its low prices for food and drinks (talk about eating a 8 dollar menu in TGI Friday’s) it’s super-hot between June and August and the city itself is so big that you have no idea where to go for some decent nightlife. There’s tons of things that you can do and a lot of potential. But in order to see it you’d almost need a car.

Valencia/Madrid: A couple of friends told me about these cities being dirt cheap and having some mind blowing nightlife. Don’t know if I should believe this. I mean I’ve been to Barcelona but well.. Hope I can get some insights from you guys.

Cheers and enjoy summer!

I would exclude any Turkish city for game. Food, nice weather, low prices - absolutely, game - not really. Like Roosh mentioned, there is a reason why so many Turks go abroad to get laid.

On this forum we only share data of places we've been to, not researched.

Roosh, I have been to Istanbul and Cesme in Turkey, also briefly visited Izmir and Kusadasi. I can't speak for the whole country, of course.

I can share some intel about Budva as I've been before..it seems like the kind of place you absolutely need to go with a wing and with some russian knowledge. It is filled with some of the hottest girls I've seen in my life serbians, russians and ukrainians are all there..however there is the famous bottle service table thing that is popular and make things difficult there and it seems most of them are hanging out with the mafia type of russians..it is worth checking out and I am going back this summer but solo again

I am in budva right now ....it is good a lot of eastern European chicks etc ....but I can second Mr. Roundtree's opinion about groups and tables + the main area shuts down at 0100!!! Way to early , then there is top hill and Sparta and that's it for late night there are no Westerners here tho , recommend Harley davidson bar, Sparta, top hill opens on 2 July

I was in Sopot two years ago from Thursday till Sunday during August. It is a great place but not for more than 3 or 4 days. During the week it is pretty dead only gets busy when the locals from Gdansk and Gydina come there to party.
If you go there stay at Monte Casino street. Thats the one and only main street there. On two nights I ended up in Czocolata Club. It is the same club which you also find in Poznan. Pretty cool place and always packed.

However my favorite place there was a Polish bar next to a place called Monkey bar right at the central place of the village where they sold sausages and had beer for 6 Zloty and Vodka shots for 4 Zloty. They played Euro dance from the 90s in there. The place was packed from 9pm and everyone in there got really really drunk. I met a cute girl from Gdansk who worked as a waitress in Italy there and was visiting her family. Unfortunately her 60 year old mother got so drunk that she had to leave with her.

There are also some other clubs and bars. The place is really small so as long as you stay around Monte Casino street you will not miss out on any clubs or bars.

I really liked it there. If you like Polish girls and want to spend a weekend in a beach village and party 3 nights straight through thats a cool place to be.
