Look at the subject of this thread. Wasn't the whole point of this thread to encourage a man to focus on his self-improvement through fitness, weight training or martial arts based on part of Roosh's Neomasculinity?
I was merely sharing my experience based on my age (almost 50) because I started martial arts training later in life (26).

Some of what Abernathy does is fair enough...lots of it is just impossible against someone who is actually trying to hurt you.

Think about this: a man does not need to deal with the legal ramifications if his martial arts/combat sport background is legally defined as "deadly weapon". A jury might not make that distinction. I am not saying that a man should not protect himself, but he should do it in a smart manner that protects him from liability. This is something every man should be aware of.
Chinese Police Hapkido??? FFS.
Therefore, Hapkido will only work for me if someone is physically smaller or not stronger than me. There is no need for me to punch the living shit out of someone in self-defense situation if that person is an unskilled and uncoordinated fighter. I'd rather just apply a choke hold, joint locks, sweeps, etc. on someone who could barely punch like a girl.
