Finding a Combat Sport After 30?

Are you trolling us with those videos?
[Image: huh.gif] No. Honestly, I really don't give a shit if you don't like it.

Look at the subject of this thread. Wasn't the whole point of this thread to encourage a man to focus on his self-improvement through fitness, weight training or martial arts based on part of Roosh's Neomasculinity?

I was merely sharing my experience based on my age (almost 50) because I started martial arts training later in life (26).

Some of what Abernathy does is fair enough...lots of it is just impossible against someone who is actually trying to hurt you.
Without a doubt, true. Not all techniques are useful as most fights can get downright dirty and dangerous that last only a couple of seconds.

Chinese Police Hapkido??? FFS.
Oh, FFS! Think about this: a man does not need to deal with the legal ramifications if his martial arts/combat sport background is legally defined as "deadly weapon". A jury might not make that distinction. I am not saying that a man should not protect himself, but he should do it in a smart manner that protects him from liability. This is something every man should be aware of.

Therefore, Hapkido will only work for me if someone is physically smaller or not stronger than me. There is no need for me to punch the living shit out of someone in self-defense situation if that person is an unskilled and uncoordinated fighter. I'd rather just apply a choke hold, joint locks, sweeps, etc. on someone who could barely punch like a girl. [Image: tongue.gif]

For your own safety you should put on mma gloves sometime and step into the ring or a cage with a newbie who you think punches like a girl and let him go 100% at you.

Look, Budoman, I applaud and respect you for training anything into your 50s.

However, you are deluded.

This comment is painfully naive.

May I politely suggest you do not try your "legally defined deadly weapon" moves on anyone at all.
