Board Games: How to sexualize them
06-15-2015, 10:06 PM
So I have an upcoming date with a girl that is into board games (played at a public drinking venue). I'm trying to think of ways to sexualize a board game without appearing too obvious.
Some of the games available at venue:
Battleship
Clue
Jenga
Life
Hungry Hungry Hippos
Monopoly
Uno
Sorry
Don't Break the Ice
Trouble
Trivial Pursuit
Yahtzee
Operation
etc.
I've turned Battleship into a frat boy drinking game by each player taking a drink when their ship is hit, then finishing beer when each ship is sunk. But getting hammered is not the idea here.
Strip poker is an obvious choice, but not so much in a public venue.
Thanks for the ideas.

Nice! They do indeed have chess and checkers at this venue.

If you're going to the venue that I'm thinking of, in DC, the upstairs has couches and is a bit more intimate and kino-friendly, if I recall correctly.
I'd stay away from games that make you think, so ax trivial pursuit and the like. I'd stick with a game where you can sit next to each other and get intimate, as opposed to something like Battleship where you can't get close to the other person, or even something like chess where you have to be on opposite sides of the table. Chess is also a thinking game. Monopoly takes too long and is never fun towards the end.
My top choices, for a board game date, would be:
Don't Break the Ice, which is highly underrated and lots of fun
Jenga is pretty fast paced with emotion and suspense built in; women love emotional roller coasters
With Life, and Operation you get lots of game-related flirtation possibilities
Uno is my go to drunk card game though it's not that great for only two people
Just pick something fun and where you can play multiple games so you both win some.
A man who procrastinates in his choosing will inevitably have his choice made for him by circumstance.
A true friend is the most precious of all possessions and the one we take the least thought about acquiring.

Is there a board game version of Never Have I Ever? I have had some success with that game.
An alternative would be something like apples to apples if you can keep the sexual tension built up, although I can't vouch for its effectiveness.
Ideally you would dominate without appearing to try.
If you're going to try, go all the way. There is no other feeling like that. You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire. You will ride life straight to perfect laughter. It's the only good fight there is.

There's a game I've played called "Loaded Questions" which is great with a small group, 4-6 people. You could probably make it work with 2. It's basically a game where you ask personal questions, but you have to guess who made what answer.
Cards Against Humanity is good with a big group, especially when drinking, and can get really edgy or sexual

None of those are actual "boardgames". You can fuck anywhere or anytime so I wont bother with that advice... but(after the bang, ofc) might as well tell your girlfriend to play some actual games... Like:
Settlers of Catan
Splendor
Carcassone
Ticket to Ride
Dixit
Dominion
Agricola
Power Grid
"Boardgamers" will consider the majority of my list to be "better" any on that list. Not just cause of hipster "too mainstream/casual" reasons- Monopoly is harder to learn, is more complicated and boring than all but the last three.
I dunno. Maybe it actually isnt a boardgame night for gamers but more for casuals, in which case ignore the above...(But dont play Monopoly!)
Also: @Atlantic can you not link a video which autoplays?

Ding ding ding. This is ideal for groups of 3 or more.

Battleship is way too easy. Just use shots of beer or something every time you hit or miss.
If have it at your own spot, turn it into a strip game.
