Budgeting for the Bangs

I am not sure if this belongs in money or girls section, but I have signed up on that website mint.com and I feel like pulling my hair out when I see how much I have spent on bullshit expenses. So I decided to come up with my own cost per notch (Copyright: Roosh) budget and its MUCH higher than I expected.

I don't buy girls drinks, I certainly don't take them out for dinners or buy them anything...so where is this money going to:

- Drinks: Those bad boys are running me $10-12 a drink. I don't drink beer so mixed drinks are costing me a fortune. Also, I am carrying the wingman, his cashflow can't support the drinks/venues. Bros before hoes, right?
- Cab Rides: Taking a cab in Boston is expensive (more so than NYC)
- Cover: I try to avoid spots with covers but I have a few places where I am bound to pick up the booty for the night, so I dish out the dinero.
- Late night eats: Totally garbage and unhealthy but I always end up buying something to ward off the hangovers (never works).
- Misc Expenses: Buying mints, condoms. Extra drycleanings on the suits cuz some bitch dropped her screwdriver on the dancefloor and my suit paints got splashed.

Therefore, my cost per notch has skyrocketed. I don't want to be cheap but rather balance out my expenses today with the savings/debt reduction for tomorrow. Besides I'd rather be traveling and spending money on trips rather than a Friday night.

How are you guys rolling out? Managing the spending?

One thing that really regret was not getting a place closer to downtown. I am about 20-25 minutes away from the scene. In this market, it would be almost impossible for me to sell my place.

What about these, instead of late night eats:

I am DJ'n just about every night I am out, so that takes care of drinks. I always try to pack something like this or nuts, etc. You gotta kill that late night garbage!

Good points. I live close to a few good spots, but my problem is that I switch up venues during the night. When I say switch up, I am talking about cross town taxis taking me from a downtown lounge full of cougars to campus side bar full of college girls. I might have to sacrifice mobility and post up at a good spot or two/

Good recommendation on the clif bars! I'll carry one around the next time and see how it goes. Smart move on the DJing.

drinks: take a flask, get a wing with some kind of cashflow

cab rides; in boston you can take the T until midnight (I also drive to my location for the night where there's free parking and just stay around there, drive home later)

cover; only pay for proven venues (never more than 10 bux)

late night eats; cut that shit out.

misc; Everything is cheaper online.

Money has been my biggest problem. I'm just too broke to pay for these covers and drinks.

I've been using the Cliff Bar solution myself but I find them way too sweet. Might want to try a small bag of almonds or peanut/raisin mix. A lot better for you and will cost you a fraction of what you're paying. You can get this stuff in a bulk section of a super market and save even more.

Good tips.

Every taken the Green line from downtown to Allston? No better way to kill your buzz. But you're right, I do need to rely on the T a lot more, especially on the way to the venue.

Cover: Done and done, I have been minimizing that deal.

Will look into the online option, I need to save that cash!!

Good deal -- does the peanut mix get a little dry? do you wash it down with water?

The almonds probably would be. I only use it as a way to fight off a hunger pang or settle my stomach if the alcohol isn't sitting right. Water is anywhere you go.

Besides, a dry mouth is better than an empty wallet. [Image: idea.gif]

Good point on the empty wallet!

I think it's been mentioned in other threads. Get a small flask for an alcohol supplement. Best cost cutter there. Consider gatorade after the night of drinking for warding off a hangover, and pack a peanut butter cup or two. They are filling, chicks would always comment on them when I brought them out in the cab ride home, and they smother your alcohol tinged breath.

How about leave the suits at home? It's Boston. I know I moved away from Boston a few years ago, but for a regular Fri-Sat suits were not needed to pull BC/BU/Northeastern/Harvard girls.

I hated the f-ing green line. 100 stops every 4 blocks.

Are there alternate methods of travel? Is there any way for you to leave before you get shitfaced and drive home somewhat sober? Public transportation (I don't know Boston that well)? Designated driver?

Some places let you in without the cover if you get there early. Sometimes you can make friends with the staff and bypass covers. If you think you have a high probability of booty (tough to tell if you ask me), shell it out.

Discipline. Cut this out.

Unavoidable fact of life. My only advice is to use other women's condoms, mints, etc. You can always grab a handful of mints and tip the bathroom attendant a buck when you get a chance. I've become great at handling my money, it's the only way I've been able to live in the middle of DC and go out as much as I do with what little I make.

The best advice I could give you, especially now that you have the mint software, is to live off a budget.

Just take a piece of paper and on the left hand side write down how much you are bringing in per month and on the right hand side write down your set expenses (rent, utilities, car, etc.) and the number you have left is what you can play with. It takes discipline but just don't exceed that number.

I have friends that make 5x or 6x times what I make that don't have even 1/5 of the amount of assets that I have because they can't understand fucking basic elementary budgeting. They should teach this shit in elementary school. It's sad, really.

PS - If the number that's left over at the bottom of your page isn't big enough to do all the shit you want to do - you need to make more money. And you will have to figure that shit out for yourself.

A tip from the pages of my mental "manual" goes something like this:

Have a cool, lounging bachelor pad. Stock up on alcohol and set it up like a bar. Learn every good spot in your neighborhood (especially free ones, like lounges, parks, and "romantic" walking routes). Construct evenings that combine a free or inexpensive activity with drinks, listening to music, and chilling at your pad.

My main problem is that when I go out I feel like I have to have a drink or smoke in my hand. Its hard not to spend money.

There's other ways to save man.

1. Order a soda once in a while
2. Pre-game at home first
3. Play darts or pool at the bar(Good and cheap way to socialize)
4. Eat at home first
5. Get the cougars to buy you drinks
6. Order smokes online from Indian Reservations
7. Roll your own smokes(I know a girl that does that at the bar)
8. Go on ladies nights and ask girls to buy your drinks(Good ice breaker)

One of the many benefits to day game is it costs you nothing to get a chick's #.

I'm about to walk to the gym. My situation is already overloaded (too many girls, and I'm introverted, so texting more than 5 drains me), but if it weren't: I'd get a phone # on the way to the gym. Or at the coffee shop on the way home.

Then I'd meet her at a nearby wine bar for $20 bottle night. With tip, I'm out $25. If the night went well, I'd get her up to my place. I'd open another bottle of wine ($15), or pour her a drink mixed at my bar ($5 in alcohol and mixers)). $30-$40 for the bang.

I only go to clubs when with my boys. If I meet a girl, cool, but that's not my intent.

Of course, some might say you need to account for the cost in living in a cool place/the kind of place where you can play host. That's not accounted for, however, as I'd live here even if it also weren't good for pulling.
