Adsense Question For Those of you who use it? Raising CPC

Hey guys I know a lot of you have blogs or are into internet marketing. I had a question about Adsense and I guess if there's any interest if any of you want to start an ongoing discussion about Adsense even better.

My question is do you block non-Adsense ad networks or the other Adsense Certified ad networks in an attempt to raise cost per click (CPC)?

I've used Adsense for years. Starting out I'd get like 2-3 clicks a day and would get excited about that. Honestly I've let it run passively for quite some time and have never really tried to optimize or even really thought about improving as I was busy with other more lucrative things.

Recently however I'm seeing I'm getting over 200 clicks a week, granted not a huge amount but if I were earning more than 0.06 cents an ad it would stack up pretty quickly.

I started doing some research and looking around my account and as an experiment am going to turn off Adsense Certified networks which is basically all the other networks adsense uses as like filler ads between adsense stuff.

I'm hearing very mixed things some say they have seen a huge increase, others say they see an increase when enabling all those other ad networks.

I feel like those networks are responsible for all these 0.06 cent clicks and the garbage ads. I havn't been doing it long enough to decide one way or the other have to give it a few weeks but hoping to raise my CPC.

Just curious if you guys block them or allow them. Also, if you have any other tips about raising CPC please share.

Adsense Question For Those of you who use it? Raising CPC

Okay so it's only a few days into my experiment so too soon to tell if this is good or bad. First day my earnings jumped up quite a lot so was very happy. The couple of days following earnings have been very low. LIke I said too soon to tell, will have to wait a few weeks.

One thing I will say when I check ads running on my site I don't have all the ads for wierd dating sites and convert to pdf type sites popping up for my ads but instead have ads for merchant payment processors and business related things which I perceive as higher quality and most likely higher paying ads.

I've been on adsense for years but never really dug and took the time to learn the ins and outs. For anyone else in my position I found two free tools which really help try to raise cpc or at the very least figure out who is advertising with you and what your earning.

Google sandbox tool for adsense-

This allows you to type in your domain and see all ads running on your page. I can't believe I didn't find this sooner, in hte past I would have to visit my sites and just refresh a million times to see all the ads. Even then I wouldn't necessarily know the domains without clicking them which is against adsense TOS. This sandbox shows you the ads and domains so you can then choose to block those partiuclar ones if you like.

iSpionage -

another cool tool. Once you run the sandbox tool and figure out which ads look low quality or low paying to you, you are then able to type in the domain and see what they are paying for various keywords. Then you have data to back up or support your move to block a certain domain.

I would advice, don't just see an ad and think its low quality because surprisingly some of the ads I thought would be terrible were paying $11 per click for some keywords and others I thought would be good were paying 0.06 cents. Before choosing to block any domain actually check what they are paying. One toher tip, some sites will pay 0.06 cents for some keywords but $6 for others so don't write someone off just because they have one low paying keyword. Lastly, you are able to block certain pages from a domain but not others so you can block a low paying ad but still accept other ads from that advertiser.

Anyhow guys, still would love some input from you guys. I'll report back in a few weeks when I have some more data to say whether its good to block other ad networks or bad and if I see higher CPC and earnings or lower.

I also just wanted to share those two new tools I found sandbox and ispionage which have helped me out, wish I would have looked into this stuff years ago.
