Hey guys,
So I managed to catch the film. Whoa, I actually enjoyed it.
I really wasn't expecting to like it at all. Thankfully, Tom Hardy handles most of the action. Charlize Theron shoots some guys and she is the impetus for most of the events of the story, but her participation isn't so overexagerrated that I was shaking my head in disbelief at every turn. The female road Warriors were dropping like flies, so I can't really say it was as grrrrllll power as I thought it was going to be.
Warning: Tom hardy is only 1 of 2 male good guys, so if you don't like a largely female cast in an action movie I totally understand.
The visuals were great. I think guys who like metal will appreciate some of the make up (

) and the near constant references to Valhalla from the bad guys. There is also a bad ass guitar player guy who is shredding it up on top of a car as the road battles happen. It was cheesy as hell, but definitely in keeping with a bizarro post-apocalyptic cult setting.
Was it the best movie of all time? Hell no, but it was enjoyable. I found the car combat to be refreshing. Virtually all of the combat occurs on the road. There are two scenes (one of which is implied) where there is fighting on the ground; otherwise, it's mostly guys throwing explosives, cars ramming each other, big rigs crushing puny, wimpy cars and general carmageddon mayhem.
