Help with Theory versus Applied Game

Maybe some other dudes on the forum who have had a similar experience learning game principles can help with some advice. I've known about sites like Roissy, Roosh, and G manifesto for awhile now, so the knowledge is second nature to me, but I've only been serious about going out and doing approaches for the past few months. I usually roll out alone to stay more focused on the task at hand.
The wall I seem to be hitting is that while I am getting very good at reading body language, telling who the girls are receptive to, and generally able to deconstruct a venue fairly well, it isn't exactly translating into much success getting notches. It seems a lot easier to use what I notice at this point to help coach my friends who I'm out with into successful pickups than actually getting them on my own.
Besides just trying to play the numbers game and do as many approaches as possible, does anyone else have experience getting the theory down very well before starting to get lots of successful pickups? How did you cross that bridge?

I don't know if it will help you, but here is what I focus on these days:
1. Make myself feel 100% (working out, positive energy etc). - If I feel great, then my magnetic personality is going to make it happen.
2. Find solid venues - this for me is key. If I am in a place with more guys than girls and it sucks, well, I am wasting my time. If I am in a place with more girls than guys, place is fly, girls are in high heels, money is changing hands and there is action, well, then my Custom Suited self rolls home with a fly girl.
3. Preparation + logistics - place is near my crib for swooping, condoms, smokes, plenty of CASH etc. - No need to have something that is in your control trip you up.
I find if those three things are in order, the rest is easy as Sunday morning.

I've found myself in a similar situation. Once I started reading Roosh, I could easily analyze everything from watching people interact but I couldn't apply it to my own life. I realized I was over thinking every conversation I was having with girls and gave off a "trying too hard" vibe. I was getting frustrated so I just said fuck it and stopped sitting on forums over analyzing every attempt I made. When I went out, instead of trying to pick up girls I told myself I was just going to have as much fun as I could that night regardless of what happened. That's when I starting getting results because I was giving off a "I don't give a shit" vibe instead of appearing needy or desperate.
My advice is to forget game for right now and go have fun. The knowledge you've gained on here will help you subconsciously and girls will notice that you are a cool guy who is just out to have a good time.

What wi30 says is true, but not for the right explanation:
80% of game is practice. There is a large subconscious component to game that no one talks about (and someday I will write a blog on), but only by repeatedly exposing yourself to women can you get a feel for how to talk to them and seduce them. Once you've got the theory down, which is so simple most boneheads can get it, the next part is execution which takes months to get a feel for. It took me 6 months before started seeing any results, so just keep playing.
Stop caring about results and instead focus on the process of bettering your game. Game is analogous to becoming good at a video game. You first start and suck; you play some more and can beat the first few levels; before you know it you're stomping the final boss and want to play the harder difficulty levels.
Don't compare yourself to what other guys are doing if they have more success than you. It's all bullshit, because it doesn't matter who you are, as long as you continue to better yourself at game you will eventually get laid. So have patience with yourself and endure through the first rough year of game. Someday, when you are getting laid on the regular, you'l look back at your starting days with a warm fondness and wish you could go back in time to relive the world as an amateur.

Very positive contributions.
The most important part IMO is what G-Man said, Venue!
You have to get in where you fit in. The venue is so important, if not you're wasting time.
Don't wait for the mark to give you body language. Appoach her and then see what she gives off. You'll know if she digs you.
Practice strong game, practice stong game, and then do it some more. What will happen is your game will improve by knowing what hits and what strikes out. You can also learn from the clown fish in the aquarium too. Don't let stike outs deter you.
It's like fishing or hunting. You have to go to the right spot, use the right bait / ammo, have the right set-up, and keep going back again and again. Listen to what the other sportsmen say. They'll brag about what they bagged and where they did it.
You'll pull some little fish at first. Some days you'll get skunked. You might even go for a whole season without a catch. Put in the work. It pays off. After a while when you know what your doing, you'll pull some citations!
Pay attention to G-Man. He knows his shit!

The more experience you have running game, the more what you read about game will stick with you.
At some point reading about game becomes a waste of time since you won't have enough experience to measure it against.
