Laurie Penny, who was already in a highly emotional state from having her political party lose, defended the vandalism on Twitter because the "welfare state" is being threatened.

For real, man. Protesting the outcome of a democratic election because the people made the wrong choice? What are they protesting for? A new electorate?

They appear to fundamentally misunderstand how representative democracy works as their main argument seems to be that since only 35%ish of the vote went to the winners, that it's somehow unfair that the tories got a majority. I bet these guys were out protesting in droves when Tony Blair got 35% of the vote and won 355 seats.

Only 4 women have ever been awarded the George Cross. I wonder which one is her grandmother, or is it a fabrication. One of the four was an air stewardess who died rescuing passengers in the 1960s, so it's not her. The other 3 recipients were operatives behind enemy lines in WW2.

Currently there is mounting evidence that election is heavily manipulated since the pre-election support simply does not match the effective results. Polls are easily manipulated as well.



Even if you have a candidate running nowadays who might change something, then you are certainly not getting him. I remember the Ron Paul action a couple of years ago where grassroots support of him was gigantic, but he was still not getting near the effective votes that he should have been receiving.

I am not even discussing his policies, which are faulty to the highest degree - just the fact that nowadays massive manipulation of voting results can be attained since fewer people are involved in compilation and computation of said votes. The more centralized it becomes the easier it gets until finally:

Violette Reine Elizabeth Szabo is English, married a Hungarian and had 1 child. It isn't her as Penny is of Jewish, Irish and Maltese descent.

This is from very rudimentary researching, but I conclude that Laurie is lying about her grandmother being awarded a George Cross.

If someone else could try to research this and possibly verify whether I am right, it could be good ammo to use against Penny.

Britain is a deeply class divided society, more so than Germany or the US. There is a feeling amongst many people that the Tories hate or at least look down on the working class.
