So headin to vegas at the end of May (28th through 31st) and staying at the Mirage. First timer.

I know this type of thread is tired and done before -- I've scoured the forums for anything about vegas -- and found a lot of good tips. I also noticed some are dated as much as 5 years old.

Has anybody gone there recently that has anything to add?

I'll definitely be hitting the poker rooms (which poker room is recommended? Does it matter?)

I'll definitely be going to a boobie bar (Spearmint Rhino, good times yea?)

Day game at pool (Mirage has a decent one, no?)

...not sure what else I'm missin' here -- feel free to add whatever.

Much obliged, gentlemen.

I haven't stayed in mirage for 6-7 years. It doesn't really change all that much. Don't like the bars too much, might be a good jump off spot though. I think Rhumbar, the outdoor lounge area between Mirage and Ceasars is the best spot. 1Oak is a little ghetto as far as crowds are concerned, although if you're staying there I'd probably go there one night since your logistics are spot on.

I don't play Poker.

Spearmint Rhino is a good time. I like it there, moreso than the mega mansion style clubs.

I have never been personally, but they have Bare, a more adult themed pool (topless). The regular pool will probably be midwest families or couples. You should go to a real pool party like Encore Beach or Wet Republic.

If you're definitely going to be going to a boobie bar I recommend you check out Treasure's Gentleman Club and Steakhouse. Women aside, eat at the steakhouse. The steak I had at the restaurant there was life changing. The best steaks I've ever had in my life, and far surpassed any beef I tried in Argentina. And it was excellent in Argentina.

Tao Nightclub at the Venetian was my personal favorite. Very popular, good music, and good atmosphere.

Last time I went to Vegas was about 3 years ago.

Thanks. I never even heard of that place. It appears as though there are various Treasure's locations. Is there a particular location that you prefer? Is the restaurant separate from the strip club? Is there anything like being bothered about lap dances while you eat?

No problem. I'll post you the link below. It's on Westwood Dr. The steakhouse and strip club are part of the same building. After you're done dining, you walk through a small corridor and immediately come to the lounge where the girls are. I've been there twice for birthday parties, and neither of the times we were bothered by girls as we were dining.

Once you go into the lounge where the stage is, then that's where the girls begin to feed. They hustle like mad. And if you're seen talking to a girl, a bartender immediately swoops in and asks if you would like to buy "the lady a drink", which is irritating. Aside from that, I've had great fun there before. I like the atmosphere, it's very luxurious. When I googled it for the link, I came across some yelp reviews. Yelp has not been kind to it recently, perhaps its gone downhill. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint if you make a trip.

ChiPolo,

Day game, try the forum shops or out in the streets. Of course there are the pool parties to day game as well. Personally I never made it to them because of recovering from the night before. But apparently Marquee is the "best." Others who've been can give better insight.

Warm up spots: Go to a restaurant called STK in Cosmo. I'd recommend making a reservation. Amazing food and great party vibe to warm up. As it gets later, the music is turned up and it turns into a pseudo club....girls dancing on their chairs, and on the tables. The other great thing is after dinner, there are a few great warm up bars around the Cosmo. Check those out.

Clubs: Hakkasan is good. Drais is cool too, and then there's always Drais after hours. Other late night venues is Peppermills and of course the strip clubs. (Also, I haven't had a chance to check this out for myself yet, but I've heard old vegas on Fridays and Saturdays, has a huge street party.)

Have fun, talk to everyone and approach without hesitation. Numbers game, numbers game. Don't waste your time on something that's not a sure thing.

Lastly, drink a glass of water after every 2 drinks at the minimum. Also bring chapstick. That is all...carry on smartly.

Drazen -- Rhumbar, Encore Beach, Wet Republic -- Noted...

Gringuito -- I'm not sure yet, depends on what I can put together before I get on the flight. I'm thinkin' around 2 grand?

Spectrum -- Steak & boobs? I'll put that in the maybe pile, you trust strip joint cuisine?

Mbare -- I'm pretty concerned about the recovery time im gunna have. Lately It's hit or miss, zero hangover or two day hangover, i just never know. STK and chapstick...very good

Good stuff guys, thanks for that, yea?
