[LOL] Elected male student forced out of Women's Advocacy role by women

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/real-li...7297386040

So anyway, as we all know, women and men are equal, but women are more equal. James Ritchie, who was elected to the position of Women's Officer for the student union in the leftie shithole known as the University of Tasmania in Australia, apparently didn't get that memo.

Quote:Quote:

A MALE university student has stepped down from his position as women’s officer at the Tasmanian University Union (TUU), after students campaigned for a woman to be put in the role instead.

James Ritchie claims he was “democratically and constitutionally elected” to the role at the northern campus in student by-elections last month
But a change.org petition started by the University of Tasmania’s Women’s Collective this week called for Mr Ritchie to be disqualified or resign. The petition attracted more than 1,000 signatures.

“In what have historically been male-dominated institutions, with a persistently patriarchal culture, it is important that women’s rights, needs, interests and concerns in the university context are voiced through someone elected to directly represent them,” the petition reads.

Except, my fine cunthole keyboard warriors, he was directly elected. By the student body itself. To represent you.

How ever did he manage to get through the net?

Quote:Quote:

TUU President Heidi La Paglia told news.com.au the job description did not specify the role had to go to a woman.
It didn’t include the original clause, which was that the candidate must sign a statutory declaration to say they identify as a woman,” Ms La Paglia said. That was a mistake, she confirmed to news.com.au.

So: the original clause was sexist. Presumably in the process of putting the advertisement together, some ditz pointed out "Um ... that actually is in breach of gender discrimination laws..." and Mr Ritchie put his hat in the ring--

[Image: images?q=tbn:ANd9GcQbnjOGt_af4QbNEFal3kD...x2rKdTgFcw]
No, you fools, not this Ritchie

But, as with feminazi protesters the world over who show us that the power of screech overrides democratic process--

Quote:Quote:

On Tuesday, the TUU student council agreed the clause should exist in the job description and the position should held by a woman. Ms La Paglia says the female student body wants to be represented by a woman, not a man.

Ironically, they are. La Paglia -- a woman -- is the TUU President. And the female student body had its right to vote: in the student elections, which Mr Ritchie won.

Quote:Quote:

“Because the position is a representative position, it does need to be held by someone who represents women.

It's fascinating watching the acrobatics of logic happening here. La Paglia can't say "it needs to be held by a woman", since that would piss off the trannies, but she also can't say "it's open to anyone to do it." This sophistry is criticised when men apply it, so why can't women take what they dish out? Thanks to Australia's nanny-state discrimination legislation, if this occurred anywhere in public life there would be a legit cause for a discrimination claim.

Quote:Quote:

“I’m sure [Mr Ritchie’s] intentions were good and it’s great that he wants to stand up for women. But there are other ways to do it.
“There’s a difference between standing up for women’s issues and taking a women’s representative position.”

Not in this case: the Women's Officer position is purely advocacy, that is, y;know, standing up for women's issues. Putting the word "representative" in this doesn't change that. Still, "there are other ways to do it" will sound familiar to some here. "Separate but equal" springs to mind. It's a hair's-breadth away from arguing complementarity, which feminazis like this ridicule.

Mr Ritchie, for his part, is eminently qualified for the position, because it would appear he has a vagina.

All right, metaphorically. He decided to pussy out, resign under the pressure, and write a long, whingy letter justifying his resignation.

The letter is here: http://tuu.com.au/wp-content/uploads/201...nation.pdf

That said, some choicer quotes:

Quote:Quote:

I wonder how many of those signing the petition asking for my resignation also took the time to sign the petitions to spare the life of 26 year old Iranian woman Reyhaneh Jabbari who was hung without a fair trial for defending herself against a man who tried to sexually assault
her.

I wonder how many signed the petition supporting Malala Yousafzai’s quest for no child to be left without education or schooling in 2015, after she herself was shot in the head by the Taliban for insisting on attending school. Or the petition to save the 219 Nigerian girls who were kidnapped by terrorists and reportedly sold as slaves, some of whom are now feared
dead.

This is where the real condemnation should be and these are the unacceptable injustices we as a society need to address.

I was asked to apologise, but my only apology is for the discrimination that these women have experienced.

Apologise???

Quote:Quote:

It breaks my heart to see the bitterness and unwillingness to engage in mature and rational debate about women’s issues. This is no joke and for the people that have portrayed this as a joke, quite frankly I think it is unacceptable.

It is a joke. And it's acceptable where you live, because you're an idiot who still thinks White Knighting is an acceptable practice for rabid feminists.

Quote:Quote:

I think it is disturbing that in 2015, a male student has been ridiculed for wanting to stand up for these issues and many more. I really am speechless at the hatred that has been directed at me. How can we live in a world which still has societies depriving women of the most basic rights, yet when this happens and a man is willing to step out and condemn this, as well as advocate for other important issues, he is the one condemned?

It's called feminism, bro. Also known as sexism. Drop by ROK and do some reading.

Quote:Quote:

I believe the only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Thoughtcrime. He used the word 'men'.

Quote:Quote:

The reason for my resignation is not bowing to public pressure but rather a reflection of my willingness to handle situations in an appropriate, mature and rational manner.

The reason you're resigning is because it's the woman thing to do. A man would stick it out and say "Fuck off. Gender equality. If you don't like my performance, sack me."

Quote:Quote:

I ask one sincere question of my critics: What has this all achieved?

This is the chilling part, because the answer is: it's been an object lesson to these women, if not you, that they can subvert democratic processes by clicking on websites. It's been an object lesson to women that you, with the penis, are a second-class citizen. It has hopefully also put one more nail in the coffin of feminism.

Just goes to show that they clearly weren't too bothered about it (seeing as they probably didn't vote) until they found a cause they could harass a male for.

Does make me wonder how many of the "over 1,000" people signing the change.org petition were actually students at the university.

I wonder how interested that this young man will be in "advocating" for women in the future.

He should've taken a leaf from our glorious PM Tony Abbott's book, who appointed himself Minister for Women and pissed off every feminist in the nation, while not apologising for it. The man's a tool, but he can really troll the shit out of feminists.

A lot, actually.

Why?

Well, this will only make him try harder to prove himself to his feminist overlords. If he had the potential for a different reaction in him, he would not have been interested in the post in the first place.
