Good sheet. If anyone's interested, check out my Glasgow datasheet, which was also made quite recently and details why I prefer some bars and clubs over others: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-36485.html

Nice write-up.

Glasgow is the only place in the world where I got rejected at the door by the bouncers for rolling solo. At least that's the reason they gave: "You can't go to a club on your own". It wasn't even some fancy exclusive club or anything either, and I was dressed well and sober. Never really understood that.

Surprised not to see Bamboo on the list - that had a great Sunday night (don't know if it still does).

Bamboo is a funny one. Used to be a LOT better and Sunday night was their gambit. But I was hesitant to mention as my local Intel on the ground said its gone way down hill and very young. To be honest there are actually a lot of good places I cut out of the data sheet as just too many to mention.

I agree but also would say Bamboo fits into a similar category as ABC1 and Garage, albeit with a slightly more pretentious clientele. It's good for getting easy notches - I met a very hot 5'11 20 y/o in there and got action immediately.

So it's worth a shot if you know what you're getting in for.

Same shit happened to me. I was trying to get into Varsity, the dude at the door said, "you meetin' your mates inside?" I said no, and he denied me entry because he wouldn't let me in alone. WTF?

Heading to Glasgow in June after a weekend trip in Reykjavik. What's the nightlife like during week days? We're all in our early 30's and prefer a rowdy/lively bar over the club scene. Any suggestions?

Yeah I got it once or twice before I was a regular at a lot of places. Again I think this stems from the whole aspect of doormen trying to weed out any guys who could potentially cause trouble. Dunno why but I guess they view any dude rolling solo as suspicious. Anytime they ask i just say that my mates are already inside.

From memory there wasn't a whole heap of options midweek for the over 30s crowd. It's all quite young and studenty. I would say The Social and bar Bunker would be good options midweek where a lot of the chicks go pre drinking before they hit the clubs.

I have reached out to my friends still based in Glasgow however for some more up to date intel. I will let you know what they say

I took a walk down Sauchiehall St to George Square last week and didn't see anything greater than a 7.

I was there the day feminism fell...

As you say Irish, there's so many bars you can visit that it's impossible to mention them all. The one thing I'd add for any students from other UK universities, your student card will get you into the student union clubs as well, which increases your options in the West End from 2 to 4. There are some other late-night venues in the area, but they definitely only really attract the local over 30s crowd.

There's also a number of smaller casinos in the city. I've only ever been to them twice and was part of a group on each occasion, but perhaps it's something for the late 20s and early 30s crowd to explore, as many people go there for a drink rather than to just gamble.

Otherwise Glasgow is great for eating and drinking in general. You can't turn a corner without seeing another pub or restaurant.

I noticed you didn't mention anything about the online game possibilities. OKC and POF are relatively popular, though POF has far more in terms of numbers, and OKC has very limited attractive options in my view. I tried Tinder for a week but didn't have any success in going from matching to meeting.

Great sheet, Irish. Currently in Glasgow studying, I agree with your suggestions and will forsure check out some new places. Sanctuary is good on a Saturday night by the way, the West End cunts come out in full-force (for better or worse), as well as a good mix of students and other professionals. I just wanted to add for all those people unfamiliar with Glasgow that there are a substantial amount of Neds roaming the city, particularly on weekends nights (Garage gets a fair amount). Although hopped up on Buckfast they're usually harmless. Some other Glasgow specific tips:

If you are from America I've found saying you're from Los Angeles gets the best response. The weather here blows and even these pale-ass Glaswegian chicks like the beach

I've noticed class divide is pretty evident here. I go out dressed well and usually decently casual (no suits but nice khakis, button-downs, sweaters, boots, etc) and if you're in the wrong place on a certain night you will definitely get some questionable looks. Local chicks can be hot/cold on this. Some eat up the American cultured foreign shit, others would rather fuck some track-suited ned, but hey what can you do?

El Barrio is decent as well in Merchant City, huge plus if you can dance salsa. Brazilian-themed and I've noticed professionals here mostly.

Glasgow Uni Campus and Byres Road are good for daygaming chicks as well, plus plenty of places to bounce to for a coffee or drink

Lastly, peruse around for International Society events at any of the unis here. Strathclyde's get a good turnout of chicks from all over

I generally don't bother with online game, you get far far superior quality for way less effort if you have any modicum of game and can cold approach. However after my experience in Manila and after banging a pretty solid hot chick just last night here in Tokyo from tinder I am coming around to the idea of online now. But I really didn't put much effort into online when I was in Glasgow apart from the occasional tinder swiping session - which seemed like there wasn't really much doing (as you would expect for anywhere in the UK, bar maybe London). I was just matching absolute crap and the few who talked to you were giving you (f)attitude straight off the bat. SEA Glasgow aint.

POF I haven't touched in years. But from memory it was just awash with scummy single mums having shat out 3 kids (no doubt to different fathers) with a laundry list of demands on their profiles that nothing but the best 0.1% men would qualify for. Complete waste of time and effort. OKC I never tried at all.

I noticed El Barrio last time I was back tho never went in. Relatively new place I'm assuming. It is yet another in a long list of nightclubs which had opened and shut within months at that location, but perhaps El Barrio will have some staying power. That reminds me, nearby there is also a really cool Brazilian bar called Boteco who I think also do salsa nights. I expect the standard there not to be too great. Arta across the road from El Barrio also used to do salsa nights but not sure if El Barrio have edged them out of the market now. Either way the chicks used to be pretty average at best from memory.

Also agreed on Glasgow Uni and Byres Road especially being good for daygaming. I was rarely up that direction during the day but if you are in the area for sure as plenty of cafe's etc to instadate.

I don't know too much about the student scene being a mid 30s guy but perhaps you can add more details around where the younger crowd go. For sure there are plenty of options for students in the city, seems like an excellent place to party if you go to uni there.

No doubt.

The Garage: First one that pops into my mind since it's the first one that I went to in Glasgow. Some info has been dropped on this already but I'll add in my personal opinion. This place is pretty solid in terms of quantity. It's a large venue with a bunch of different floors and bars, so it's solid for bouncing around and getting a feel for each room. I always do my best work in the beer garden, which is surprisingly small as fuck for a big place. A money tip if you're outside with a chick is leading her back inside through the basement entrance/exit (follow the driveway down) and fooling around in the long corridor down there. Saturday nights are when me and my wing would usually go since it seems to attract a slightly better crowd. Friday's are okay too. Neds do come here though as well as a ton of students and younger crowd. Most are under 23 though.

Viper: Located just above Glasgow Uni on Great Western Rd. This place reminds the most of an American college bar. Sticky floors and loud shitty music being the negatives, college chicks being the positive. Straight students here, and when gaming some chicks they mentioned how they thought it was strange some "old people" were there. They do special promotional nights during the week. I have never been on a weekend but Monday night and Wednesday night are usually solid if the college bar is your scene. Disclaimers: Wednesday night is Sports Night so although there are a bunch of girls, group mentality is gonna be tough to crack. Me and my wingman do pretty well here seeing as we're both students. If you're not feeling cover say whatever sport you played/wish you played [Image: wink.gif] in high school.

Kushion: Tuesday nights are the best for Kushion. Again, heavily students and this is their big weekday night with some shitty promotional title called "Juicy Tuesday". It gets packed here, best places to game are in the beer garden (money), and at the bar when you first walk in, otherwise the two big rooms are a clusterfuck. I'm always surprisingly impressed with the talent, girls dress up for this night. A lot of dudes though, probably 50/50 maybe slightly skewed.

Bamboo: Wednesday/Friday nights are the two I have been too. Fridays more crowded than Wed. obviously, but decent. Three big rooms with one playing Top 40, one Rock, and one Hip Hop. On Wednesday and Friday, forget gaming in the Top 40 or Hip Hop because you cannot move without bumping into someone. Dancefloor game is okay here, better in Top 40. In the Hip Hop section it's mostly dudes standing around and shit. The Rock section is best for gaming however throughout the entire place they blast the music loud enough where it's hard to have a convo.

ABC: Thursday/Fridays here are good. Big venue, great smoking zone too. Huge dancefloor, game accordingly. A lot of students on Thursday, more of a mix on Friday. A couple of bars scattered around, and in this place you do get a fair amount of groups.

Sanctuary: Good on Saturdays for a little bit classier time, however just note that it is a cab ride away from the City Centre/Merchant City where most of the nightlife is centered.

Boteco: As Irish said, Brazilian/Salsa-ish bar in Merchant City. Still good, I was there last week. Professionals after work and a couple of MILFs floating around. If you can dance salsa you'll do well here.

Firewater: Much more of a bar than a club, which I kinda like. Easy to talk to chicks and they have a dancefloor in the corner which is good for taking/picking up. Go on Thursdays then bounce to ABC or somewhere else nearby.

Todd's: Bar at Strathclyde Uni. Cheap drinks and they have foosball and pool. All students and is good for two v. two game. Grab drinks and play a game of foosball with you and Chick A, then your wing and Chick B.

Tinglebar?: Shot bar, small but a good talent range. Went once, I was wasted so take it as an educated suggestion.

I gave a very student-age oriented perspective, and

Sunday: Gotta be a student at least once a week, however locals especially go out this night.
Monday: Viper
Tuesday: Kushion/Firewater
Wednesday: Bamboo
Thursday: Firewater then O2ABC
Friday: Honestly anywhere, but the Garage/Bamboo/ABC
Saturday: Again anywhere, but Garage/Sanctuary

For pre-gaming, hit up the Student Unions, you don't usually have to show ID and from there you can ask chicks where they're headed that night.

-- End Note: I gave a very brief student-oriented suggestion, there are literally 100s of places to go in Glasgow. I named only a few to give an idea, however I'd be happy to put more on this thread if interest is shown. Go out and get drunk, it's what Glaswegians and everybody does here. Being wasted yet composed is the optimal level to deal with the shit that goes down here in my opinion, however if you don't drink or have more night-game experience sober than have at it. I would say that having a wing helps, because a girl is usually never alone, although she can be separated at the smoking zone or bar. Unfortunately sometimes here there is a group of two chicks and one is noticeably better looking than the other-- nothing a little rock/paper/scissors can't solve though [Image: wink.gif]. Glasgow is underrated in my opinion, both the nightlife and the crop of girls being better than what a lot of people say. Don't go to Campus either, it's shitty.

Sorry for the delay on getting back to you on this xCHENDOx, I got in contact with a friend and local DJ based there and he said:

"Hi mate, ok Monday - Kokomo, Tuesday - Kushion, Wednesday - Bamboo, Thursday - Sugar Cube..."

Sounds solid enough (although I haven't heard of Kokomo but will take his word for it). Now being mid-week and having been at a couple of those venues on those nights before I am expecting it to be pretty young but to be honest there's not going to be a whole lot of options for over 30s midweek (as they just get spread too thin amongst all the venues catered for students with cheap drinks).

What you can do however is hit up the bars local to these clubs which tend to get busy with a mixed enough crowd (the older ones tend to stay in the bar all night while the younger ones move onto the clubs). Thus I would say based on the above that would mean Bunker and Moskito on Bath Street Monday to Wednesday and The Social on Royal Exchange Square Thursday.

Also dirtybird above posted some very solid info as well (+1 from me) which although is more from the student perspective I would still take into consideration when you are there also. Hope you boys have a good one

I am going to Glasgow for 2 weeks in april, going there to do a quick course but I will be gaming while I am there.

Anybody knows if there is a large afro-caribbean population in Glasgow? If yes, what area are they located?

If anybody wants to hang out while I am there, let me know.

Anyone still active in Glasgow? I am here for the weekend and all the clubs I went to today (Garage, Kokomo) didn't let me in solo. Unbelievable. Does anyone know which club will let me in solo, or does anyone want to pair up and go in together?
