"Will a woman be elected U.S. President in 2016?" and "Which party will win the 2016 U.S. presidential election?" are also proxies for the presidential race.

I just went on predictit looks like they have reached the maximum number of shares for the general election bet between Trump and Hillary. You can still vote for a Trump win by betting on who will win the VP.

Far out, things are heating up. Tempted to chuck more on Trump before the odds plummet over this coming week with these videos and the debate.

Movement on odds is largely down to FBI reopening Hillary's email scandal case. They will most likely return in a few days.

Can you guys please clarify for me (as I haven't been able to find it mentioned in this thread):

What are the fees involved with PredictIt?

I signed up and then learned about the 5% withdrawal fee (which is steep) and apparently there's a 10% transaction fee on funds where you win a significant amount (as opposed to lose)?

Up to 15% fees seems crazy high.

They take 10% of your profits regardless of how much you win. Then, when you take your money out they charge 5% on the total you withdraw. So it's not a straight 15%, although this does make it harder to make money on "sure thing" type bets where shares are greater than $0.90 or so.

What are other politics betting sites in US?

I'm not sure if this has been discussed on other threads but could not find it in this thread. For anyone doing last minute bets on Trump or for any other sport, DO NOT take any bonuses that these bookie sites offer, this makes you susceptible to rollover requirements. Example below...

I believe bet365 has a 3x deposit + bonus rollover requirement, meaning if you deposit $100 and get a $100 bonus, you'd have to bet 3x$200 --> $600 before you can withdraw your earnings.

I'm sure most of you know about this, but just wanted to clarify for anyone out there interested in making last minute bets.

Otherwise, have any of you had any issues otherwise withdrawing from Bet365?

^^^ That only applies to the bonus amount.

What you actually deposit (and stake with) can be withdrawn at any time.

I don't think the markets on PredictIt have moved in proportion to events over the past few days. One of two things is happening:

1. What many of us have suspected, the markets were being manipulated, and that money won't leave until election day.

2. The Hillary bets are in denial and refuse to liquidate even though they should.

Or maybe both.

protip:

There are multiple markets where you can bet on essentially the same thing - a Trump victory.

There is a 2016 Presidential Party market, a President market, VP market, and a "will the next president be a woman" market.

Check all of these before buying to figure out the best odds.

While you're at it, 'NO' is typically cheaper than 'YES' for some reason despite betting against a party (taking the field) being a better or equivalent deal as voting for one party.

Right now, for example, you can bet that Trump will win, at $0.34, or you can bet that Kaine will NOT be VP (different market) for $0.28. No brainer

It seems like that's exactly what's happening, with Comey coming forward and telling America the truth about new evidence in the FBI investigation.

Not to mention Wikileaks...
  • Donna Brazile sharing debate questions with Hillary, which has led CNN to cut ties with her
  • DNC officials discussing different ways of using religion to sabotage Bernie, calling him a "doofus" and strategizing that Hillary should "co-opt" Bernie's progressive views to steal young voters from him during the primary
  • Hillary's globalist dream as told to Wall Street executives behind closed doors
  • Emails from Huma and others about foreigners paying money in exchange for access to HRC, including foreigners who support ISIS financially and otherwise
  • An email from Podesta to Clinton categorizing people by discriminatory criteria alone, and referring to it as "food groups"
  • "The Clintons won't forget what their friends have done for them"
  • Obama corresponded with HRC's private server and "we need to clean this up"
  • Hillary has public positions that differ from what she believes in private, and believes this to be a good principle for public servants

In retrospect, maybe the only miracle is that half of Americans seem totally complacent about all of this.

I sold some stock today because I don't want to be caught long the market if "smoking gun" emails are released (by wikileaks or the FBI) and Trump ends up as the clear frontrunner on election day.

Nothing personal against Hillary. Just starting to see her legs come out from under her in the home stretch.
