Baking Soda for deodorant?
05-12-2011, 01:03 PM
Last December I started breaking out in burn-like rashes under my arms from Degree deodorant. What was strange is that I'd been using this deodorant for years with no problem. Then for a few months after any other type of deodorant was giving me similar allergic reactions. I laid off deodorant for awhile and started rubbing Neosporin under my armpits. It's an anti-biotic ointment. That stuff pretty much nukes all bacteria under your arms and can keep you odor free there for a couple days. I guess it would work on your balls too, lol...though I can't say I've tried that. There are anti-biotic powders too you can buy.
Only problem is, I'm wary about people doing this on a large scale because in the end we're probably helping bacteria evolve super-resistance with all these anti-bacterial products we now use in everything.

Airport security = chopping off your leg at the knee to cure your athletes foot
Back on topic....
So does the soda only clear up the smell, or does it actually prevent perspiration?

Well, I just tried this baking soda bizwizz for the first time today and so far it's been working way better than the usual deodorant I use. In fact, there is no noticeable smell coming from my pits. Yeehaw!

I second that on the baking soda tip. My deodorant has now remained dormant in my bathroom for almost a week and I smell great. I tried the baking soda in the balls and it feels a bit weird but so far so good, I did the sniff test at a very humid point during the day and the scent was pleasant.
I feel VERY confident presenting my package for upcoming lizards to blow!
Thanks for the tip, Roosh, that shyt is a gem.

1. Take a shower.
2. While your pits are still wet, dip two wet fingers in a tub of dry baking soda.
3. Rub into pits until no more baking soda is on your fingers. Add water to your fingers if necessary.
Keep your baking soda source dry. If it gets wet, the baking soda will have a hard time sticking to your fingers and you'll have to kinda scoop it up with your fingers and cradle it to your pits.

For those of you with questionable skin, you can also use the baking soda as a valid exfoliate. Rub it on your face, leave it on for about 3-5 mins and then wash it off. You'll never have felt so fresh in your life.
You can also use it to clean your stove, the sink, the fridge and mop the floor.

It does not stop perspiration, only neutralize odor.
For that you need aluminum based products.

To bad it doesn't help with sweat like deodorant. That's the only reason I'm not using it.
