Kingsmen - Another Hollywood Game Sighting

Just came back from Kingsmen.

Club Scene, hero (lower class brit guy- possibly a Chav?) and his two support characters (upper class brit guy, and upper class brit girl) are in a night club and they have to seduce a young blonde.

The Posh dude comes in with a neg.
The Posh chick calls him in on it.
The Chav dude asks if there's something's funny with the bubbly.
The Posh chick identifies it as an opinion opener.

Coupled with the Black Mirror X-Mas special, these UK folks are heavily steeped in the classic Mystery Method.

Is the movie worth watching? Haven't been in theaters for a while and considering it.

Kingsmen and Hollywood Game. Also, Big Bang Theory must have Neil Strauss feeding them ideas.

Damn after reading the thread title I was expecting this:

Team visible roots
"The Carousel Stops For No Man" - Tuthmosis

It's not nearly as serious as the trailer makes it. It's not Austin Powers level of Camp, but it's certainly not Jason Bourne or James Bond. They definitely play with the genre conventions, might be a bit too meta for some, too cheeky.

The CGI is straight outta Xena the Warrior Princess. Truly SyFy levels of technology. It's horrible.

The fight scenes were good and gory. (Same dude did Kickass and Suckerpunch if I recall)

I was entertained. Depending on how it does, you could easily see a sequel.

He (Matthew Vaughn) didn't direct suckerpunch. His last film was X Men: First Class.

As for the film, I really liked it, it has a lot of entertaining violence in it.

I was actually thinking of Mark Millar not Matty Vaughn. And Mark didn't do suckerpunch, he did write Kickass and this comic book.

In either case, the story and the "beat" are trademark Millar.

Just went and saw the movie. Pretty badass and friggin hilarious.
Highly recommended.

Like all hollywood/media productions, it's like ten years behind when it comes to modern culture. It refers to a lot of mystery method during one scene that these agents-in-training have to seduce a woman.

I haven't seen kingsmen, but you can tell they're just making a mockery of solid Game principles. PS: Its the female babooon with the bright red ass!

Its no different in how absurdist Mystery got I guess, but hey, if it works.......

Howard quotes Mysterys pick up show on VH1 I think for his inspiration in that episode.
