The trailer is darkly funny - instead of it being about a player who fucks lots of women and settles for one - like every other romance movie, it's about a slut who finally 'falls' for a guy.

The last scene of the trailer is only a slight exaggeration of how real sluts behave nowadays.

However, I doubt I'd enjoy watching the movie in full. I always find it silly and gay when guys go "OMG THIS IS RED PILL, MUST WATCH." Nah, I don't abandon all standards of taste and decency just because I may intellectually agree with the film. The movie Idiocracy was a glaring, and terrible, example of this.

Also, I wonder if girls will dislike the movie or the protagonist because she is a touch too ugly. If she's too pretty, girls hate her, if she's too ugly, they don't empathize. So it helps to be in the ~7 zone of attractiveness so girls can vicariously live as the actress.

I have to admit I used to be a bit of a Judd Apatow fan before he embraced the Lena Dunham shit. His movies seem a bit counter-culture for Hollywood. I wouldn't say pro-masculine and definitely not Red Pill but he does put out a lot of stuff that isn't that far off from some things talked about in the sphere. The last bit of your comment is what I was wondering about.

From the trailer you might think that he has been reading manosphere and pua material. So, will women see the movie or will it flop? I said I might see it and the reason is because I am actually curious to how he will play it. :55 - 1:05 - John Cena trying to redeem the film and become the next Dwayne Johnson. Hmm. Good luck to him.

1:05 - Literally the modern woman's priorities: "Before you judge, you should know I'm doing fine: my friends are awesome, my apartment is sick, and I have a great job at a men's magazine."

1:33 - Lebron James with better acting than you'd expect. Why are a wrestler and a basketball player the best parts of this movie?

1:45 - Ugly, annoying, vapid woman gets asks out on a date by a successful doctor for displaying stupidity.

1:50 - 2:30 - Extended joke about woman rejecting commitment from a man who treats her well rather than pumps and dumps her.

What an utter piece of trash film. This kind of shit, along with trash reality television goes a long way toward normalizing the awful behavior you see in modern women. This is cultural subversion, in a nutshell. This is what happens when you have a hostile elite of cultural Marxists controlling your culture through domination of Hollywood and media. They corrupt the morals of society and destroy social norms by targeting women and young people with degrading trash like this movie.

I do, however, agree with Zelcorpion on this point. I like Amy Schumer because of this. There's an honesty in her humor regarding both ends of the chic spectrum. She shows how sad the city slut life produces AND how clingy chics really are with guys post-sex (vs men).

Her humor reflects terribly on society, but at least it's honest.

The female lead is a huge slut, which isn't glorified at all (e.g. the homeless guy making fun of her for her walk of shame), the dad blasting monogamy in the beginning is pretty much how I feel as a man, and that last scene is a pretty great skewering of the modern female's approach to dating (disgusted by a nice guy who doesn't just want to pump and dump her).

Your post is a great example of why propaganda/subversive programming like this film works: most people simply can't recognize it. They don't understand how programming works. The think that because the behavior on screen "isn't glorified" (i.e. is often presented in a comedic fashion) that the behavior is therefore being condemned, and that the audience is internalizing this lesson. But this is absolutely not true. The reality is that when you show people visual images of behavior and accompany them with humor, you are creating a psychological association of positivity in the viewer's mind. They associate the behavior with the good feelings they got from laughter. So far from not glorifying trashy behavior, films like this encourage it, not only from the direct onscreen example acted out by a sympathetic main character, but by the subliminal psychological process I just outlined (using humor to associate positive emotions with a displayed behavior).

There's also the fact that movies, especially of this type (female-marketed romantic comedies) have happy endings for the main character. This means that despite everything that happens to the woman in this story, everything is going to turn out well for her in the end. This also encourages the viewer to partake in her abominable behavior, because the message is that such behavior has no consequences: everything will go your way in the end. This gives young women a license to party, do drugs and whore around in their 20s, because they believe they can count on a Prince Charming to rescue them when the time is right. I mean, in this film that premise could not be displayed more blatantly - this obnoxious, ugly woman is asked out on a date by a very successful surgeon immediately after displaying her stupidity. The overall message of the film is very clear: "Ladies, behave like sluts, focus on your career and having fun above all else, and be assured that some wealthy man will be begging to marry you when you're ready."

And it's very obvious why John Cena and Lebron are in the movie (and featured in the trailer): to ensure that women are able to drag men along to the theater with them. Once there, in exchange for seeing their favorite sports stars on screen for a few minutes, the men will then be subjected to an hour and a half of programming that belittles them and encourages them to expect abominable behavior from women, because "that's just how things are these days".
