Nine year old boy suspended for telling classmate he had a magic ring

This little news story can be seen as an afterword to Roosh's recent article about how he realized most of his education was a waste of time.

It also should be read in conjunction with the other thread here about the male feminist who wrote a comic book on how boys should "behave" around girls. (That is, they should basically amputate their testicles).

The news story here: a nine year old boy is suspended from school for telling a classmate that he could make him disappear with his "magic ring" that was similar to the one found by Bilbo Baggins in "The Hobbit."

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national...-1.2099103

Apparently, to the school authorities, this constitutes a "threat" to another student.

Thoughtcrime is real, and it is out there. Now it seems that something as innocuous as this can get you in trouble.

The family moved to the Kermit Independent School District only six months ago, but it’s been nothing but headaches for Aiden. He’s already been suspended three times this school year.

Two of the disciplinary actions this year were in-school suspensions for referring to a classmate as black and bringing his favorite book to school: "The Big Book of Knowledge."

“He loves that book. They were studying the solar system and he took it to school. He thought his teacher would be impressed,” Steward said.

But the teacher learned the popular children’s encyclopedia had a section on pregnancy, depicting a pregnant woman in an illustration, he explained.

It sounds to me like he's an imaginative, possibly hyper kid who doesn't sit still and behave like a little girl so the teachers are targeting him with whatever they can.

I really don't think women should be allowed to teach boys.

There are plenty of those cases - drawing a gun as a boy, making a gun symbol with your hand - all those cases have brought even police detention upon those boys.

You simply cannot be a boy anymore. I remember street fights close to my neighborhood being fought by 12-14 year olds - complete with nails in sticks and crazy shit. The advice from one parent back than was: "Next time you make a circle draw a good line of defense - boy!"

We even had fights in school and no one was batting an eyelash. Boys will be boys - but again in those times food was much less hyper-activity inducing with a lot less sugar and caffeine in it. Also there was much more time left for physical activity and last of all - there was no perception of men being potentially all psychopaths who had to be drugged in order to behave like girls. It was acceptable that boys behaved differently.

We will remain a tiny minority here. The new generation is being indoctrinated non-stop as we speak.

When I was in second grade, I used to go around the playground pretending I was Godzilla and blowing my thermonuclear fire breath at other kids around the Jungle Gym. I built little mini-Tokyos out of wet sand and stomped them into smoldering ruins. I'd even gargle my apple juice to try and get Big G's roar right. "SKREEEEOOOONK!"

These days, I figure that's at least a seven-day suspension and a vice principal with a BMI of 32 talking to your parents about "emotional awareness" and "sensitivity lessons."

This is what happens when you send your kids to public school.

Do not ever send a kid to public school.

Me and my group of friends used to play GI Joe vs Cobra on the playground pretend shooting each other with AK's and tanks and shit. It's a very sad day when you rob the potential of creativity and imagination from children and punish them for it. He brought a book to school he enjoys and wanted to show the teacher and he got suspended. Fuck that! I would definitely move my child to a place where his creativity and intelligence could be fostered and not punished.

I don't see how I'd be able to have kids in the US and not end up bitch slapping a teacher across the face or socking the principal in the mouth.

I can just imagine conflict after conflict with these people. It has to be maddening for any father worth a shit to deal with the school system now days.

I even remember when I was in the 4th grade a kid was twisting my arm in class. I told him to stop and he wouldn't so I punched him in the eye. My teacher, who was actually male, ran over yelling "Rio, why did you hit him?!?". As I was trying to answer he says "It's never ok to hit someone! Go sit in the corner!"

I got suspended and had to sit on the bench for a week during recess while he got to play. Even then I remember thinking it didn't make sense that he twisted my arm first, I told him to stop, and I only punched him after he wouldn't stop. Why the fuck was I the only one in trouble?

Maybe that has something to do with why I've never really respected or looked up to any teachers I had. I never felt they were smarter than me or were anyone special. They were just the monkeys dishing out busy work that wasn't going to help me in life anyways.

This just about sums it up, Zelcorpion. A boy is not permitted to act as a male anymore without being subjected to all this bullshit.

True.

Although as a father you could twist it around into something good for the kid to learn.

Like, the day he has suspension from school, arrange the day off and take the kid to do something mind blowing and fun for him.

Make sure he knows he did nothing wrong. And that sometimes you don't have to swallow the mainstream rules on things.

Kind of like the story in Giuliani's book where the kid slugs a persistent bully and the dad or uncle takes him to get ice cream afterwards.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

I briefly took an education class as an elective in college and dropped it the first week. Most of the people in that class were fat chicks, homely girls and/or idiots who knew how to regurgitate information. The few other guys in that class were limp wristed weirdos. There are no moral absolutes, violence is always wrong, we should all sing kumbaya and it's "NOT OK" to judge anyone for any reason whatsoever unless they're cishetwhitemales.

The education system is largely a government babysitting, indoctrination system that also serves as a jobs program for liberal SWPL-types. It's a complete joke.

Texas. I'm surprised the boy wasn't prosecuted for blasphemy and sent to a Christian reeducation camp.

It's not the ring that's magic, it's the hand that wields it.

Is it really that hard to take one of your rings, give it to the other kid, and tell him it's a ring of protection? Hell, it doesn't even have to be a ring, it could be anything. How about a magic dispelling chalkboard eraser? What's next, suspending kids for giving themselves cootie shots?

Shit, if the school freaks out over that, wonder what they'll do when an enterprising fourteen-year-old invites the Harry Potter fangirls in his class around to see his magic wand.

As part of my the life I am currently living as a expat, by the time I would actually potentially chose to have children, I'll be in the position to not only give them a classical education (no more than 3-4 hours of study each day), but also a global education.

They will probably learn 4-5 languages by 18, not because it was shoved down their throats, but because they had both the opportunity and desire to do so.

And books, lots of books. Each of my children will need a large wallet to organize their personal library cards.

I know a guy who was suspended for a week for pointing a banana at another student and yelling "bang!"

Crazy times we live in.

I worked as a High School teacher from 1994 to 2006 and I've witnessed situations where kids were drugged with Ritalin not because it was really needed, but simply because some teachers could not let those kids were too "disturbing" even if there was nothing wrong with them.

Another time, some kids were suspended because they "fought" each other. In fact, they were just playing, and I could give you many other examples!

The fact that the staff in our schools is mainly feminine explains it a lot.

Man, if I were a school boy now doing what I used to do at that age, I'd get suspended 2-3 times a day.

Home school and free public / Internet library it is for my future misbehaving kids.

That's what I'm planning for if I have some kids. I work in a high school and I take all the books that they get rid of. It's perfect, since majority of the stuff taught in high school doesn't really change too much. The only thing I need to do is comb through the history/social studies books for obvious leftist objectives.

“I assure you my son lacks the magical powers necessary to threaten his friend’s existence,” the boy's father later wrote in an email. "If he did, I'm sure he'd bring him right back."

I was laughing. It sounds like the father is taking it lightly, hopefully using it simply as a lesson for the take to dgaf.

So funny.

One of the sticking points with my ex-wife and I was about raising kids. If I were to ever have kids, they'll be homeschooled, at least until 6th grade.
