Whey Protein Mixes

Whey Protein Mixes

I've purchased a massive container of Whey Protein, obviously to increase my protein intake and build muscle. It's been difficult finding the ideal ingredients to add into the shake for the best product.

My first mix was 3/4 of the given cup in the container, along with one sliced banana and 7 ounces of distilled water. Following a five minute blending I poured it into a cup and drank until I reached the halfway when I noticed the bottom of the cup looked and tasted like wax.

My second mix was with 8 ounces of Whole milk. The product after blending was much more rich in flavor. Since, I've purchased 2% Milk after reading that Whole Milk has more calories than 2%, as well as more saturated fat.

Do you guys use Whey Protein; what are your mixes?

1-2 scoops with water in a blender bottle, done. If you are lifting on a consistant (daily) basis youre gonna get used to the taste. For my money chocolate just about always tastes the least like asshole, followed by banana.

I am not a fan of powdered food. For protein and explosive growth, I choose a product that took millions of years to develop. Take 6-12 per day:

I've always been curious, do you crack the egg into a cup and drink it straight? I can't work up the testicular fortitude to do so..but Rocky made it seem easy. Makes me feel like a bitch.

You can but I never do. You can mix and egg or two with about anything and not even taste it.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but eating raw eggs is a horrible idea.
First off, your body digests cooked egg much better than raw egg (http://jn.nutrition.org/content/128/10/1716.full)

Second, raw egg white contains avidin which will bind to biotin. If you eat raw eggs on a daily basis, you could become deficient in biotin which is a necessary nutrient.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Avidin and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biotin)

PS I hate the taste of cooked eggs. I wish raw eggs were healthy, then I would just drink 'em. Raw eggs have barely any flavor and go down quick.

I just mix it with water in a shaker bottle. I usually have my protein mix post workout as soon as possible after eating 72 grams of scottish oatmeal mixed with water. I eat the scottish oatmeal first causing my body to have an insulin spike then drink the protein shake after with creatine. The insulin spike causes the protein and creatine to go directly into my muscles so that nothing is wasted.

I also take a second shake before I go to bed.

Buy a shaker bottle, that way you won't waste too much time blending. Eat the fruits separately, it isn't hard eating two bananas.

Double Rich chocolate or mocha cappuccino are the best tasting flavors. Mix this with whole milk. You're losing out on a lot of good nutrients if you use 2% or skimmed milk. If you're trying to cut body fat mix it with water.

Unsweetened organic almond milk with two scoops of all-natural flavored whey. Toss it in the blender with a few ice cubes to make it frosty and for some extra nutrition + good fats, add a scoop of peanut butter. The taste and consistency is amazing.

1 cup of milk, 1 banana, 2-3 spoonfuls of peanut butter, 1 scoop of protein. It is a bit thicker if you use a frozen banana.

I'm just going to leave this here:

You can get unflavored organic egg whites and mix it with your whey protein.

Yes, by necessity for a time. The taste was tolerable, but I have eaten some nasty shit. Would definitely cook if possible.

I usually use almond milk. I also toss in some frozen kale, Barleans greens, maybe some creatine if I hadn't had any that day, maybe a raw egg, maybe some Greek yogurt, maybe some peanut butter, maybe some coconut oil. Combine all that with the protein powder in a blender.

this is another one of those things from the famous "what geeks think is MANLY AS FUCK" category. raw egg protein actually has lower bioavalability than if you cooked your eggs in some kind of weigh. so stop getting your fitness/being a man advice from pop movies

I used the shaker bottle for years. It is definitely worth moving up to a blender. In addition to all the additional nutrients you get from adding ingredients to your shakes, it is surprisingly easy to make shakes taste like real food by only adding a few ingredients.

I'm never gotten my "fitness/being a man" advice from pop movies. It was merely something I saw and seemed daring, especially when done by a legendary character such as Rocky. I'm glad that I was told it didn't have any more benefits than cooked eggs, but don't insult and call me a "geek".
