According to my gay friends, a lot of times it is being gay. Closeted gay guys in denial about their sexuality are notorious for hooking up with fat chicks.

Gay guys have told me it's because the huge mass of the women's bodies reminds them of men's bodies. Maybe that's the reason we're not attracted to them. It's not so much because of the fat per se, but because our brains interpret bulk as "my football buddy," not "my girlfriend."
