I have been drugged in Amsterdam by the bartender or a friend of his.
I have been given home made vodka which poisoned me and lead to a whole heap of trouble in Ukraine. Sometimes bartenders will swap out home made shit and keep all the cash.

Besides other fun stuff so I know this stuff can happen everywhere.

Medellin popped up on my radar because of some articles about it becoming a tech hub.

I'm trying to understand how much wealth you can enjoy without standing out and becoming a target. I was able to blend in enough in Ukraine but know that is impossible in Colombia.

Linux, if this is something that you don't want in your thread just say the word and I will bow out. From reading other threads, it sounds like you nailed it.

What never has been discussed that I've seen on the forum are either male family members or ex-boyfriends, current boyfriends etc... retaliating after a girl either regrets quickly banging a foreign guy or figures out she was used for sex when the next day or two after she tries to initiate contact and you just blow her off?

Seems like it could be common, but I never read stories about it... seems like a legitimate concern especially if a girl's family or friends is associated with some dangerous people.

It's never happened to me in twenty years of living this lifestyle, but I see how it could. I think the best way to avoid the problems is the same way that you can avoid problems in the United States. After the bang, keep some contact with the girl regardless of what your intentions are.

Colombia especially is known as the most unfaithful country in South America.

People keep things hush hush, I had a friend banging a married girl who lived only blocks away from him... No husband retaliation to be found.

Another thing is, most of the guys here aren't really doing anything retaliation worthy to girls. Part of the game is in fact avoiding retaliations. Don't kick girls out of your place at 3am for no reason, don't make her regret being with you, hell why would you? Show her a nice time. Probably the "cruelest" thing anyone here does is not call girls back if they don't feel like it.

So many angles to what works with Colombianas....Spanish skills, exotic looks, length of stay, aggressive approaches.....I have lived and worked in Colombia for going on 3 years....I have had a lot of fun and success with Colombianas....I have also learned a lot about them....the best decision I have made is to not get tied down with any of them....yes being a tall foreigner with a good job and nice condo surely helps but Without coming across as a dick I think one of the more important and over looked qualities is to truly have the mindset that you are THE BIGGER BETTER DEAL....once they know, you know the score, there is a different attitude....these women know there country is full of hot ass hence the ingrained jealousy....and constant shit tests.

I have a theory on Colombianas I call the 4 F's. They will Fuck you, Fight you, Flake on you, and Family you......most men who are new here get caught in the web, or succumb to these womens beauty, shit tests and games....what lots of foreign men forget is they are THE BIGGER BETTER DEAL and there are millions of hot attractive women in this country....simply walk away when you feel things slippin, .....wait a bit and another attractive available Colombiana will present herself....

Personally I prefer Bogota over Cali and Medellin as I find more success in the capital and prefer large crazy cities....but I do enjoy my time in Cali and Medellin and find positives in both cities. I would rank Calenas personality the best and Paisas looks the best (but they know it)....Costanas y Calenas are the most fun and quickest to get naked......

I plan on being here awhile and currently am home visiting family in the USA and have been laughing my ass off at the thirst American men have for truly average to below average women in looks & personality....the women run the show here and I thank god I got out of this backwards society.

Latin America is probably the worst place in the world to flaunt wealth (perhaps Africa also, don't know). LA is all about being under the radar with regards to insulating yourself from crime and insecurity.

I don't find LA that dangerous. I have spent multiple years down there and have been in sticky situations and gone to dangerous neighbourhoods. I have been robbed 1 time in over 4 years of experience in LA.

However, never show wealth in Latin America. This is the easiest way to get robbed or worse without any doubt (I mean besides basic stuff of walking into a heavy favela or barrio by yourself). This means no jewelry, no fancy clothes, never showing cash hand, anything like this. If you want to do this that means you have to go really for it; private driver, accommodation in gated communities, and using point A to B logistics. The richest elite class do flaunt wealth but they also spend ridiculous amounts of money on the things I just pointed out to protect themselves.

90% of safety in LA is being a ghost. I have blonde hair yet I don't usually stick out. I only wear pants (with some exceptions, Latinos only wear pants), don't wear anything expensive, I know where I am going when walking during day or night, and I don't even carry a wallet with me in LA.

There is also certain scams that you need to become aware of that are common in a particular city that you are in. For example, in Buenos Aires a common scam is to get shit water sprayed on you and a few people will try to help you clean it off then take off with your bag. I have seen countless gringos get conned by this method. If you know it's happening to you then nothing will happen because you keep walking and ignore the people.

Speaking Spanish is also fairly important. Many scams occur with someone asking for money or something like that, realizing you don't know what the fuck is going on and then pulling a knife on you and robbing you.

If you want to dress up for nightlife, that is fine. But you have to arrange a taxi or private transportation of some sort. Other than that, avoid showing any display of wealth.

I have told people in Colombia I was from a different part of Colombia and they generally believed me, once my Spanish got good enough. Really if you're not talking to someone for a long time they may not notice. I would always just make up parts of the city like

"Parce soy de Pereira"
"A lo bien? De cual parte?"
"Parce al lado del Exito, en la carrera septima"
"Ahh paisano, chevere"

I didn't even take my cell phone out of the apartment on most days. When I did take it out, I would swap out my iphone for a cheap android and just swap the sim cards. this is why I like tmobile and att phones.

Like you said, I think trouble can happen anywhere. I think you could live in Cali and not have anything happen to you if you are hermit and stay inside all the time. But that's no fun.

To be honest, that's the trade off. Cali was dangerous but I miss it. I've been in Medellin for four days I absolutely hate it here. Last night I saw five drunk American girls arguing on the street. It made me sick. This would never happen in Cali. I'm thinking of heading to Barranquilla for a few days to get away from the gringos and drunk American bitches.

Nothing is ever 100% safe, especially in Cali, but if you were to rent a place in Ciudad Jardin, have the girls you meet online go to your house/apartment, and do daygame in the mall in Ciudad Jardin, the risk is minimal. Any other strategy and/or part of Cali and the risk drastically increases. The bars in Ciudad Jardin were basically a complete bust, a lot of Colombian girls who lived abroad and who were acting kind of strange. The mall in Ciudad Jardin and the gym there are decent for daygame. I was frankly surprised at the taxi driver story and that is not at all consistent with my experiences.

It's very doable not speaking spanish. Dates are much more fun when you do not speak the same language. I had girls cracking up over dinner on some the phrases I was putting together. I found it annoying when they spoke English.

As far as excitement, There is something to be said about laying in the bed smoking a cigar with two hot Latinas both laying on your chest with a giant fake ass popping out of the sheets.

I need to be stateside in Feb. I paid a kid to take all my med school pre-requisites online. Chemistry, O-chem, and Physics. Linux, I am glad to see that you were doing in a few hours what I typically did in 2 dates and sometimes 3 dates. You maximized your assets to their fullest potential.
I found that when I tried to escalate fast with the 18 to 21 girls (take them to my place on the 1st date or have them come to my apartment first), it usually didn't work out so well. This is probably due to the fact that I am Latino, older, wasn't in good shape at the time and don't have blue eyes or blond hair. They saw me more as a provider and possible boyfriend, rather than just a fuck.

I actually did not date any women younger than 23. My ages were 23 to 34. I just don't enjoy younger women. I'm curious about the houses you look at. I have been thinking about doing this also. Apartments are very cheap to buy there. I landed a few 9's in Rio but none in Cali. Most of the 9's and 10's are dating men who live there. It's hard to get them on the online game.
